We needed a central place to stay for our last night in Scotland and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at ibis Styles on Saint Andrew Square. We received a warm welcome from the staff and a good rest in a comfortable, quiet room. The continental breakfast offered many healthy and delicious options, setting us up for a big day of travel.

I enjoyed my stay so much! The room was amazing, bed and pillow so comfy!! The shower was fabulous!! But what makes this place amazing it’s the staff,Ilaria,Mercedes,Jonathan and Tatiana were extremely nice and helped me with anything i needed! I would definitely come back!! Our brief visit to Edinburgh, on our way north, coincided with Taylor Swift’s tour visit to the city, making hotel rooms scarce and expensive. After multiple unsuccessful efforts to book a room, I ended up booking a room at the Ibis Styles, a self-described better quality budget hotel. In most respects the hotel lives up to its hype, though the room rate (no doubt jacked up due to the Swift concerts) of over $500/night was hardly economical, though comparably lower than the nicer hotels in town. The location is perfect — on St. Andrew’s Square, a stone’s throw from the old town, a block from the bus stop to the airport and just a few blocks to the train station. Couldn’t be much better. The lobby/public area was very pleasant and the included breakfast buffet was surprisingly good. The staff was friendly and always helpful. There were no other amenities. Our room was tiny — the bed occupied most of the space and navigating around the bed with two suitcases open was tricky. It could not have been smaller. Otherwise, it was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The safe didn’t work and the staff couldn’t manage to get it to work. My big complaint about the hotel was the exterior noise at night — our ground level room faced the front of the hotel (the staff could not move us, we were told) and the traffic noise was both constant and proximate. Every vehicle passed over a manhole cover located directly in front of our room window, making a jolting noise that was very disruptive. Someone needs to get that fixed. I slept badly for two nights — and what is a hotel for, if not to provide a good night’s sleep? So, my review would be more favorable had I been given a quieter room. The hotel is not a bad choice for a budget conscious traveler amenable to a tiny room in a good location. Just insist on a room facing away from the main street.

However, we apologise that certain parts of your stay fell short of your expectations. We understand that the room size was a concern and we aim to be transparent about this unique characteristic of our hotel, due to its historical nature as a former bank. Regarding the rate, we strive to be competitive and acknowledge that rates can indeed reflect city events. Moreover, we regret the inconvenience caused by the safe in your room and understand the importance of such amenities for our guests. We also empathize with your experience regarding the noise; while our central location is ideal for exploring Edinburgh, it does mean we are part of the city's lively atmosphere. We have noted your comments and can assure you that we continually seek ways to enhance our guests' comfort. Nonetheless, our central location is one of the features we are most proud of, providing guests with easy access to Edinburgh's iconic attractions and convenient transport links. We are pleased that you appreciated this aspect of our hotel and hope it enriched your visit to the city. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more restful experience. The location lived up and then some to our expectations. A few minutes walk to shops, restaurants, the railway station, and the hop on hop off busses. We had a balcony room with a spectacular view. Breakfast was excellent with everything from healthy to lovely cake and pastries. Best of all - the staff who went over and above to help with any request. Special mention to Mercedes who was absolutely super during our stay!

Great visit fantastic staff We had a business group at the Ibis, very organised and Nicoletta was so helpful with all the preparation in reservations. Hotel is a great location we would absolutely recommend this hotel. Nice clean rooms and great breakfast.
