One night only where from the point of arrival to leaving the whole experience was broadly 5* Super pleasant and helpful check in lady, Sophie, who deserves a mention. The room was exceptionally clean and well provisioned and the WiFi super quick. I was on a dinner B&B rate where dinner was both excellent in choice & quality. The service was also attentive perhaps a little to distant if I were to be critical, may be I would have had another drink if asked. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best coffee experiences I’ve had lol

Check in issues. Lady on the front desk was not welcoming at all. Stood there waiting for quite a while at the desk before finally being acknowledged. Could have quiet easily said ‘1 moment and I’ll be right with you’ and that would have been fine, but got nothing from her, not even a smile. Booked in advance and asked on the booking form to have the jacuzzi room as I had paid for the privilege room it was an option, but when I arrived I was told there was no rooms available. Wasn’t told about breakfast timings or check out timings. Had to ask about check out time. Booking says check out upto 2pm, but lady said it was 12pm. Got to the room and found several things missing. Came back down and spoke to reception at 1935 asking for shower gel/ shampoo to be refilled along Nespresso machine and bottled water. Was told that for environmental reasons they don’t do bottled water. And there was a tap/ refill station around the corner. Different lady came up at 1955 to top up shower gel, but didn’t mention anything about the espresso machine. Didn’t offer any apology for the inconvenience. Other notes, bath robe smelt of curry, stains on carpet and on the curtains, toilet roll holder broken. Very disappointing service and totally not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. We visited a year again and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves so we came back but this year we was very dissapointed. We requested infomation for our stay and was not given it, in fact we had to change rooms 3 times. We was staying for our anniversary and was very upset with the stay. We ate in the restaurant but the service was awful, we waited a long time for drinks and food. The chef told a waitor we couldnt order something and did not give an explanation. I have sent an email with more details on the stay.
