From the website it was pretty hard to know what to expect. I booked on my own for 4 nights to get some affordable and easy to get to RnR out of the city. Breakfast is well catered for but if you book here please be advised there is NO food onsite after 5pm M-T and only a set menu starting at $75 on W-T. It would have been really good to have been told this when I checked in and that Uber Eats was an option as in Tuesday night I was very angry when I worked out I was going to have to go to Manly to eat. The location was fantastic and the staff were great with the day to day. However they made a balls up of my payment (took it from the wrong card) and even 4 days of me telling them it was urgent as of writing this review it still hasn't been dealt with and the same excuse was given on check-out as it was when I raised it to them. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was good. The toilet not so much, but was manageable. There was places to hang clothes but no-where to put underwear and socks etc. The site is a little run-down but charming. They are hugely missing a trick by not having bicycles or scooters available to rent on site especially with the access to the beach being a huge set of stairs or a steep road. It also would be good to use electric vehicles for shuttling around days the engines are loud in the bush. If they sorted their act out regarding amenities and food I would stay here again. It was hard to work out what their target market actually was, but I don’t think people wanting a chilled mid-week break from the city was it.

AVOID DURING PUBLIC EVENTS AND ON WEEKENDS

Accor - Q Station Sydney Harbour National Park, stayed for 4 nights, historically significance and only a few minutes away for entertainment, nightlife and iconic Manly Beach. It is a wonderful place to stay, relax and enjoy the best of what Sydney has to offer - truly a sanctuary amidst the chaos of the city. The property is heritage listed therefore some dispensations must be allowed for i.e. the property is not brand new, the setting is in a national part and heritage listed therefore the rooms are not noise proof, we have to share common verandas and walkways approx. 2 rooms per side. On our first night we enjoyed the ambiance of the Boilerhouse, our room was excellent and the view perfect, our neighbours were most respectful and despite being woken up two mornings in a row once at 530am as they chattered. Despite this, our mornings have been exceptional with a fabulous breakfast at the View Restaurant. Spending the day at the picture-perfect Quarantine Beach, meeting other guests, and in the evening going to the adults only ghost tour. The courtesy bus do regular drop offs into Manly. Up till this point the staff from housekeeping, hospitality, to our lovely courtesy drivers and reception staff (sometimes the same person they wear many different hats) conducted themselves with exceptional professionalism. Today (5 Oct) we went to Sydney for the day and returned at approx. 2pm only to find the entire deck and our outdoor furniture plus other bits of random furniture like bar stools had been collected and placed on one end of the veranda. I wish I could say that some apparition had been responsible but alas this was not the case. As I heard and observed a large group of people gathered on the adjacent building, music blaring, singing extremely loudly as they were highly inebriated – the peaceful ambiance we had experienced for the last few days vanished ( I do not know of these were the same people who moved all the furniture in our building). My husband who had left to collect some ice then returned to tell me that he had been stopped by 2 females asking who he was. My husband refused to answer the female and when he came past them on his way back to the room, they again engaged him asking him what Q Station was, what room was he in and why had he chosen to stay onsite. I call reception and was advised that there were several ticketed events, the property is open to the public therefore these types of behaviours should be anticipated, including the loud group but to make sure our room is locked, there were only 3 staff on site (no security), the vastness of the property made it difficult for Accor to manage these issues, she did say she would mention this to the manager. Collecting and re arranged outdoor furniture as best as I could we sat to enjoy the view from our veranda but for the next 3 hours or so the loud music, singing and yelling each time the Manly ferry went past led to us giving up going back in our room to try to get away from the noise. A video of this group was provided to the reception staff. In the morning at breakfast, we met other guest who advised that their elderly mother had been physically grabbed by a male last night and the same male then attempted to enter several hotel rooms. I then observed the same group from yesterday cat calling a young child approx. 5 years old , she turned and faced the wall as she attempted to walk past this group. Our booking is priced at over $400 per night, to avoid this group and adhering to the advice of reception staff we cancel our reservations at the Boilerhouse and stayed in our room for the remaining nights.
