Good location but the accommodation was a bit old.

We like the location, it’s very convenient for walking around Sydney CBD for sightseeing. The hotel building is abit old as well as the lift system. Breakfast was average not special. Carpark is abit difficult, however if you rent a car from Europe Car, it’s very convenient to return the car here.

I choose this hotel because of Pullman this brand, also the location and a five star hotel. The price was $300+ so it also seems a five star hotel price. But, it doesn’t meet the standard at all! Even till today, I’m so so regret I have used my free night of my A+ card in this hotel which I can use it in a better hotel instead. So I booked this hotel by using my ACCOR membership because as a platinum member, I’m eligible for an express checking in the lounge and access to the lounge during my stay. However, when I arrived, the receptionist told me there’s no lounge in this hotel. It has been closed since Covid but I don’t know cause there’s nothing show on the website so I ask how about express checking in the VIP room or anything it’s just so dark and I was expecting a better view of Sydney after all this hotel is located in a very good area beside Hyde park. I literally expecting I can go all the way up very high and enjoy the view, but obviously it’s not there. So I stayed in this hotel for two days, but I booked in two separate stay because as I mentioned before I use one free night. So I actually contact this hotel through email about weeks ago before my trip, asking whether I can get a upgrade considering my membership. so I got a reply saying they already combine my two stays into one for my convenience and will try their best to give me an update. However, when I checking the receptionist find out it’s not come by at all and pretty much most of the rooms has fully booked and they try very hard to finally give me a upgraded room which I appreciate that but I’m just wondering what’s wrong with the communication here. So I show my welcome drink so the receptionist told me OK you can go to the restaurant or the bar to get the drink. But there were so many people in the bar because of conference so I went to the restaurant however the restaurant stuff guide me back to the bar again so I have to wait in the bar. That’s really bad experience like do you guys even know where can I get service? It’s also very funny about the room, the whole hotel, including the room I was so dark. What’s more they are cutting off the power when you left the room which is ridiculous. I have two phones with me so I left one in the room for charging it when I get out but when I return, the phone was not charged at all, and I can see the light was off, but turn on immediately the moment I opened the door. I feel very shock and I contact the front desk and the front desk obviously didn’t notice about it. So he check with his manager and call me back saying sorry there’s a sensor in the room can detect whether you left on. That’s how they cut off the power. So I ask if that means no one can actually leave any device charging in the room. He also can’t answer my question that really make me frustrated cause I do have one charger and a multi cables because I expecting there’s a USB plug but somehow the hotel is so old and there’s no USB plug. That means I can’t charge two device at the same time. By the way, I also noticed there’s no slippers in the room at all so all right. I went back to the front desk asking about any spare charger or slipper. Funny is the receptionist take out the slipper from the back straight away give it to me. I was kind of shocked because I have to carry it. There’s no bag or anything I carry with me. I’m not expecting somebody bring it to me which most of hotel would do that, but Like this is not really my expectation. She also told me that they don’t have any spare chargers, but they can help me charge my device when I away, which I don’t feel comfortable to leave my device there and she even suggest me to get up another charger from the shop, but I wasn’t thinking it necessary at all. as I mentioned before I stay there for two days, so this is literally completely change my plan cause my plan was spending the whole day in a hotel maybe most of the time which I can go to the lounge have some drink have some snacks and went out sometimes during the day. Since my plan has to be changed so I sleep a little bit late so I left the room around 2 PM. I can hear the house keeping stuff already been here, but I left a card. Ask them come back later. So I went out at 2 PM and the return back home around 10 PM. Find out the room was not clean at all. I called the front desk again asking about this. You know what the front desk even telling me? Oh well we normally clean in the morning so well sounds like if I missed the time that’s OK like normal that you want your room can’t get cleaned Then what’s the point of the card mean and this is not the first time I stay in hotel not even talking about five star hotel. Also I’ve been to a Pullman before never ever happened Housekeeping always keeping an eye on what room not been cleaned it and my check later And I can’t believe I got an answer like this. I would appreciate that if you’d be honest enough telling me oh maybe be too busy or might be missed that room because we don’t know where you live. That’s OK. I will completely understand that instead you telling me like this is common sense. Hey, I don’t work here. I don’t need to know what’s the common sense and this is a five star hotel I treat it as a five star hotel, which this is not acceptable. because it’s pretty late already around 10 to 11 so I don’t want them come back clean the room anymore actually they didn’t really mention about to come. They just asking whether I need any new towels. So I asked for some towers at the same time I remember there’s a gold green something like if I don’t request a cleaning the room I can get 500 points so I mentioned about this to the receptionist and he said he would proceed that for me even till today like one week later I still haven’t got points and I have to call them again yesterday to ask about it and I finally get it proceeded, I got a 500 points to my account straight away. That’s telling me that previous guy actually didn’t proceed the it at all. The room self not just dark, but also it’s not very clean at all. You can see underneath the bed, or the shelf, on top of the power outlet all covered with dust. Also, there are elevators and in the middle one was under their maintenance. It’s so funny. There’s only one switch on the very right side so you need to move in between the very left one or very right one and what makes him more funnier is the place to swipe the card give very slow response and nobody told me about this. I still remember the first time I get into the elevator. I was a try so many times it doesn’t work and I feel so embarrassed everyone standing inside the elevator just waiting for me so I have to get it off. go back to the front desk and check with them and then I find out. I just need to keep the car on top of the sensor and wait for it. Also for the breakfast for the restaurant in the garden, whatever essay I don’t really feel like that it’s not really in the garden at all and the fruit variety are very small. Oh, one thing I forgot when I wish my hand. I can’t even get any hand wash things out. It’s like nobody ever refill that hand wash soap. It just give me a feeling like the housekeeping people here not really do everything as what request. If I had to say something good about this hotel, I would say location is very convenient to everywhere and they offer premium water even I’m not really sure if it is as it says. Because when I live in Sofitel another two days, they asked me to drink tapwater. The staff told me this hotel will get furnished next year. I’m not sure if it’s real. I’m kind of looking forward to it before that I would never think about to go back anymore.

The first time I checked in, it was a very helpfull by manager name Muhammad. Thanks a lot for him understanding about my booking problem. I really appreciate it. Got room facing hyde park for four nights. Room was clean, big and the bed linen also clean. And the bath room as well. It is nice place to stay, location not so far from the central. I recommend this hotel to stay at Sydney. Need a little upgrade / renovation to make this hotel better.

Hotel room inside was nice however everything else was poor. The look of the hotel appears to be exclusive for lgbtq community. The entire front is painted in rainbows so I was very confused if I had the wrong hotel. The jacuzzi looked very small and dirty, did not use it. One morning hotel staff or cleaners stormed into my room at 9.30am while I was in bed. They opened the door without knocking which gave me a shock.

Average only - needs a good clean

We stayed here for a few nights in October 2024. The hotel is about 20 minutes by car from Sydney International Airport. By foot, it's about five minutes across the park into the main shopping area in Sydney. We have been to Sydney many times and chose this hotel as, while not in the very centre itself, it is located right by beautiful Hyde Park (and, if you're in a room facing the park, there is a wonderful view) and it is within easy walking distance to everything. There is a convenience store right by the hotel but we couldn't find many restaurants in the vicinity. You'll need to cross the park to get to the main shopping/restaurant area. The room itself, facing the park, was bathed in afternoon sun. We were on a high floor and there was absolutely no noise. That had its disadvantages, though, as the lifts were not particularly fast and occasionally the wifi cut out. The room was clean and had all the usual amenities, including a coffee machine. The buffet breakfast was standard - the usual food items, but nothing flash. After a few days it became a bit boring. The hotel needs a good update. The lobby is a bit dark and not at all welcoming and the other common areas were showing their age. For example, the carpet in the hallway was quite old. The hotel could be cleaner. For example, the carpet in the lifts was dirty. On the top floor there is a pool and a hot spa big enough for about two people only. Someone had been eating up there and left behind some food wrappings and it took the hotel some time to remove that rubbish. The top floor could be so much more, but it's not all that attractive or enticing. On our next trip to Sydney we will probably stay somewhere else. This hotel is ok, and the price was good, but we would prefer to stay somewhere cleaner and more central.
