Well after reading the reviews, I was truly wondering what to expect 😫. Currently staying in house … We were very warmly and efficiently welcomed , bags stowed until our Hyde park view -king room was ready ( we were very early and heading off to the harbour anyway). We arrived back early and our room was ready… We were told where the breakfast room was , and where we could get our included drinks. So , up to the room. ( level 15) . Very spacious room , absolutely spotless, large bed, and good size bathroom ( HUGE bath). Small fridge and tea/ coffee etc supplied. Great storage areas, nice gown, desk area, and a nice sized Tv. ( standard Tv available) So the lifts !!! Well I’ve been up and down all afternoon. Never waited more than 30 seconds 🤷‍♀️. Nice ( small) pool area but an AMAZING view. We’ve just watched Hal NOORDAM sail out of the harbour/ heads … just gorgeous.. and the view of the city and park from our window is phenomenal.. We are very happy with our room and the staff. Can’t quite understand other peoples problems with the hotel. I would certainly return

The hotel is old and tired with poor hygiene levels. The lifts are currently being renovated and are therefore very s-l-o-w… initial room looked like it had last been decorated 30 years ago. Toilet was not properly cleaned. Common parts were very dirty. Carpets in the room and in the common parts were not properly vacuumed. The gym floor was dirty, dusty and had numerous random hairs over it. The restaurant area looks like a cheap cafe and whoever is managing it is not getting the young staff to keep it free from food debris, carpet detritus and maintaining table cleanliness. Very poor food selection. Rubbish bar. Only plus points were (1) that when we complained about our initial (awful) room, we were upgraded, and (2) the great location. Extremely disappointing and possibly the worst ‘5 star’ hotel I have ever stayed at.

They are still working on the elevators at this joint. God knows how long that’s been but they just get worse not better. I waited 15 minutes for an elevator to take me from my room on the 9th floor to ground level and even when the lift arrived it was chock full I had to literally squeeze in. Absolutely ridiculous. If you’re planning a journey add 30 minutes to allow for the poor performance of these lifts.

An older hotel in the CBD with a good location opposite Hyde park and an about 25 minute walk say to circular quay. While the room was older than other pullmans i liked it. It had everything and was well set out. The restaurant on the ground floor ate dinner there for three nights and the service was very good, the food came promptly and was good. I had the superfood salad more than once and enjoyed that mixture and the lamb shank was also good. The breakfast buffet on the first floor went once and was mediocre and not good value for its price.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay here. The staff are highly professional and responded to our special requirements in a helpful and caring way. The location of the hotel is very convenient for accessing tourist attractions. The restaurants offered a range of delicious, freshly prepared food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet, and the view we had of the city was spectacular. Highly recommend this as a great place to stay in the heart of Sydney.
