We enjoyed our time in Auckland and the hotel’s location is a real strength. The harbour room views are superb, ferries to Devonport and Waiheke are moments away, and there are plenty of restaurants in the Viaduct. Shops, buses, and a large Woolworths within a 10-minute walk made self-catering easy. Our initial apartment was disappointing in terms of second floor, overlooked, cleanliness and kitchen equipment, but the hotel responded to our concerns and moved us the following day. The second apartment (relocated to the third floor) was an improvement, though it still felt tired, with dated furniture, worn fittings, and stained carpets. While I don’t mind older furnishings, at this price point the apartments would benefit from a refresh and a more consistent standard. Overall, the hotel handled feedback professionally, and with some attention to maintenance and presentation, this could be an excellent stay given its outstanding location.

We really enjoyed the Sebel , excellent location on the viaduct and great facilities such as washing machine and dryer in the spacious comfortable apartment.

Grubby and disappointing.

Very disappointing stay. This hotel is very run down. Furniture frayed and tired. Broken tiles on balcony, cracked toilet lid, a festival of mold in the bathroom, stain splatter across window blinds, wall and carpet, bed was hot and uncomfortable.

The location is wonderful. Good views and central to everything. Asked to see room before checking in, due to reviews I had read. Front desk agent Miah was very helpful. We had no trouble sleeping, but weren’t there during a weekend when the bars could be noisy. Mostly had all we needed in the room. Nespresso machine good; only kitchen scissors and paper towels missed. These rooms are privately owned, so I imagine some were kept up better than others. Our Room 308 was good.

This hotel is in a great location and unfortunately that is all it has to offer. Our room was filthy, bathroom covered in mold, stained carpets and piles of dust on every surface. They offer basic amenities like bathrobes, but then don’t have them when you ask. Housekeeping skipped our room one day but even when they came they would take all of the towels and not replace them with the same amount, which resulted in a call to the front desk everyday. We paid extra for a harbor view room; the view is nice but beware that it is right over the restaurant area and there were live bands that would start around 10 pm which resulted in lost sleep.
