My experience is reflected in multiple reveiews over the last 12 months, none of which the hotel management seems interested in addressing. This is a two start motel with very little regrad for providing service and facilties of any quality. The best thing about it was the free WIfi was fast and plentiful which is good because UI had to stream entertainment due to so few free to air station being available on the SD TV. See problems listed below: • Room had not been properly service prior to our arrival – no soap and very little coffee, milk and sugar • TV was Standard Definition with only free to air channels meaning we had very little to choose from. • Pillows were the worst I have ever had on a bed anywhere • Breakfast day1 – no eggs available due to issue with supplier • Dinner day 1 – was initially told that my Accor membership only entitled me to 30% discount rather that 2 for 1 – this was checked and corrected after I challenged that position. Food was just OK but country pub rather than restaurant standard – In restaurants they tend to set the tables rather than telling you to collect your cutlery on the way through to your table. • As mentioned in earlier reviews the curtains do not block out light

This hotel markets itself as a 4 star hotel, I'm not sure how that gets assessed but it is more like 2-3 star. Arrival-not a particularly friendly welcome. Just asked for ID and credit card and handed me a piece of paper with a map of the hotel layout and restaurant times. Room-basic. More like a regional motel than a 4 star hotel. The room was large and the bed was comfy but it's ageing and there was a constant smell that seemed to come from the drain in bathroom. Toilet paper was one of those dispensers that you pull one sheet out at a time. Power points close to the bed didn't work. "Blackout curtains" were coming off their rails so lots of light shining through in the morning. The walls are quite thin so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The rooms are spread across a number of 2 story buildings-no lifts. Restaurant - small restaurant near reception. Breakfast buffet is $25. Toast, 3 types of cereal, fruit and yoghurt and basic hot food. Instant coffee machine but extra charge for barista coffee. One bright point was the female staff member on duty who was friendly and clearly doing her best. On my second morning a very large group (coach trip) were departing as I arrived. I had to clear space on a bench to eat and when I left no attempt had been made to start clean up. Seemed like there was a lack of staff. Location-in what appeared to be a residential area. No shops within walking distance Overall it's an ok basic hotel but not 4 stars and very different to other Ibis Styles I have stayed in. I'd prefer not to stay again (was booked through work)

Never Again ibis Styles Canberra! Absolutely disgraceful!

State of room was appalling, dirty, worn, dated, pictures published online do not represent current condition of the hotel. We canceled our second night and would not have stayed the first except most of greater Canberra was booked out that night due to events.

We were once regular customers of this property pre Covid. The last few years has seen a decline in a hotel I have never seen before. The price we were charged was higher than when we booked, the TV and phone didn't work, the TV was fixed but the phone wasn't. The room was not serviced despite promises it would be. Towels and coffee were replenished only after many walks to the reception as previously mentioned the phone didn't work. The ill-fitting curtains had holes in them as did the sheets. The staff listened politely to my concerns but could not care less and no action taken. ACCOR should be ashamed of themselves allowing this to happen to a once good property. I suggest the Manager should be fired and someone put in who cares about the customers and the property and knows what they are doing. ACCOR has certainly gone downhill, never again!

As seems common with the reviews on here, when you book with this hotel - you don't actually get a room. Arrived around midnight after a 4 hour drive, to be told that they had overbooked the hotel and as such my 2 night stay had been changed to 1 night at a hotel 30 minutes away back in New South Wales. Reading the reviews this seems a common trend and one the hotel management have no desire to improve upon.
