A budget hotel, very basic, but all needs are met

In spite of a very compact, spartan room (there's really no room to put open suitcases), we were overall quite happy with everything. The beds were surprisingly comfortable (it would have been nice to have electric outlets on both sides of the bed). The room was very clean. Excellent shower, even a hair dryer is provided. Our room was on the courtyard side, so it was quiet enough. Breakfast was good and plentiful, with good Swiss coffee and fresh croissants among other things. Check in and out are efficient and quick. It seems the manager gives good attention to detail and wants guests to have a positive experience. We loved the tram stop right outside. I'd say it is very good value for what the hotel offers!

Best price in Zurich area. Kind of a cross between a hotel and a hostel

We got put up here by Delta because of a flight cancellation due to a mechanical issue. The staff is friendly and the place is quite clean. It is definitely small and feels almost like a youth hostel. The AC from what I could tell only works if the outside temperature is more than 25C. This place is very close to a runway. We kept the window open over night and at 6 am sharp planes started taking off and it was so loud at first I thought there was a plane crashing into the area. But otherwise this place is quite nice and great value for the price.

I stayed at Ibis Budget Zurich Airport for a short trip. The location is very convenient if you have an early flight, and check-in was smooth. The room was clean and basic, but quite small and a bit cramped for longer stays. Breakfast was okay, offering a simple selection. A small concern: all guests are paying customers, so the reception staff should handle each guest politely, calmly, and one at a time. Every guest deserves equal attention and respect. Overall, it’s a decent option for a short stay near the airport, but not ideal for a comfortable or luxurious experience.

Great budget option - perfect for plane spotters!!!!

There are some minor quibbles about this hotel, but generally we enjoyed our stay. For the price we would certainly stay again, and recommend it to others. The reception staff were generally friendly and helpful, and they all speak English, which is a bonus!!! Arriving at 9.30am, they did offer the option of checking in early for I think 30CHF, but we decided to leave the luggage and head into Zurich. They do have storage space round the side of the building if you need to leave luggage, which we also did on our departure day as our flight home wasn't until 9.30 pm. The room itself is compact, but the beds are comfy, the room was clean and the water in the shower was hot, so it was all good. As an Englishman, the lack of a kettle in the room was a downside, but that's not unusual in Ibis hotels in Switzerland!!! We had a room at the back of the hotel which meant we had a view overlooking the airport runways. Now I have to be honest and say that during the day there are planes which come over the hotel and are very loud. However, the rooms do block out much of the noise - stand in the corridor outside and you'll see the difference!!! The flight seem to start at about 6am each morning, but it's not something that bothered me too much. On the plus side, if you enjoy watching planes take off and land, a room with a view of the runway would be just up your street. The continental breakfast was good, although unlike some other Ibis hotels, there are no cooked options (apart from boiled eggs!). Again, being English, the lack of English tea was a bit of a negative, but you do expect that in Switzerland!!! The tram lines 10 and 12 run every few minutes to and from the airport, only 5 minutes away. For heading into the city, tram number 10 runs every 7 or 8 minutes taking about 35 to 40 minutes. I could easily see how some of the negatives could spoil a stay for some (as you can see from some of the reviews), but it didn't bother us too much and it's a nice hotel in a very convenient location.

Would NOT stay here again!

Would NOT stay here again. Room had NO space to put bags. No night stand per se. The tiny night stand on each side was crazy small and WAY too low to be practical! NO plug on one side of bed (which I normally use); WHY?! Put a damn plug on each side! An inconvenient corner with a couple hangers, but no real closet/space. Only ONE trash can in entire unit. Two worthless, flat pillows! Really, who wants to sleep with one pillow that squishes down to nothing?! Shower was a joke. Provided NO space to disrobe other than main bedroom area, ie NO privacy! No wash cloths, or EVEN hand towels! Just one "shower" towel each. Lobby had dirty, sticky chairs. Men's bathroom in lobby had NO soap. When I mentioned to staff, they did NOT seem concerned at all. Rather than saying they would refill them, they simply said "get soap in a different bathroom". Arrived an hour before normal check-in, but was told couldn't get into room unless paid an extra 30 CHF! it was available, but not unless we PAID. Really?! Nickel and dime you for everything! Staff were very apathetic. Did "their job", but really didn't show any true concern for guests. We wanted to borrow adapters for the unusual plugs. We've done this in other countries when needed without a problem/charge. They wanted $16 CHF EACH to sell us....we ended up buying at local Coop for half that price! The only decent thing to say was that is was very convenient to local tram to airport/downtown. But still would NOT stay here again
