We have stayed here before and enjoyed our visit largely because of the central location. We booked a Privilege room for this visit through Expedia. When we arrived to check in we were advised that there was no Privilege room available. They only have two apparently. The receptionist lady who was also the duty manager just said that there was nothing she could do and that we should take it up with Expedia. When we suggested that she really needed to do something, she became quite defensive. She disappeared from the area for some time and eventually came back and offered two complimentary drinks from the bar by way of compensation. We accepted and got on with our stay. Had she been more professional and looked for a solution initially rather than just passing the blame onto Expedia we could have avoided a n awkward situation. Staff training in problem resolution is needed. The rest of the hotel is acceptable the rooms are ok but bathrooms really need upgraded.

Whilst we are sorry to read of the issues faced, having looked into this you have booked and selected a privilege room DBA which you were allocated in as per room booking. The room in which you were looking for was a superior double DBB. The receptionist made you aware of this and unfortunately both of the above upgrades for this room style were in use. If these were available we would have offered the further upgrade to the room you were looking for having not booked this room type. A very tired hotel, badly in need of refurbishment. Carpets were frayed, seats were badly scuffed. Reception service was very good but the restaurant service for breakfast was lacking in enthusiasm. Orange juice from cheap supermarket long life packs. The first morning I asked for and got eggs made to order. The next day, the waitress had clearly been told to say they were too busy as the refusal came even before I had finished making my request. Not a place I would recommend or visit again if I had a choice.

Stayed here for one night. Check in was quick and efficient from extremely friendly and attentive staff. Room was as expected. Clean and comfortable, everything we needed except for charging points next to the bed which was frustrating. Hotel is in a great location, central yet quiet, Breakfast was self service, food was plentiful and good quality, no issues. For the price we paid we were satisfied and would return!

Tired, dated and in need of investment

Arrived for a 2 night stay and check in was quick, smooth and friendly. Room was small, dark and dated, the carpet was worn. Got a room change and although it was slightly bigger, it was still very dated and worn. Furniture was old and drawers were broken. Bathroom was old and the power from the shower was almost non existent. Breakfast was good with a range of choice but again the area was dark and old with the carpet and furniture needing renewed. There were areas in main lobby where the carpet was thread bare and could be a trip hazard. Overall, although it was comfortable, the hotel needs investment. I’m afraid I will not stay here again or recommend this hotel.

Good food at reasonable price, front of house run well by Ainhoa, who was very polite and very pleasant. As were the rest of the staff that I came into contact with. Rooms clean and well maintained but were a little tied in fittings. Quite area of the city, no problem having the window open all night.
