Our stay at the Perth Mercure was made particularly enjoyable by the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff team. From the receptionists to the staff in the bar and restaurant area everyone did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible Although some of the decor might be described as being a little tired our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. It would be good to have two chairs in the room as both my husband and I were suffering some aches and pains but we managed fine and I am sure if I had mentioned this another chair would have been brought up. Our room was on the second floor but one of the receptionists helped bring up our bags as there is no lift. Car parking was available in front of the hotel and in an overflow car park across the road We would definitely stay here again if we return to Perth

My husband and I stayed for one night on our way further up into the highlands. We left home early as we were taking the bus to visit Lindores distillery. So we arrived at 11 , car park was full but a lovely lady on reception Kerry, came out and walked over to the other car park and found us a space . We were then allowed to check in to our room. Totally unheard of in any hotel we have stayed in. We were delighted. Our room was huge , spotlessly clean . I agree with some comments about updating , but in no way did it detract from the lovely hotel . We slept so well , very quiet. Breakfast was perfect, lots of choices. Food stocked up constantly so nothing runs out and tables cleaned quickly. All the staff are so friendly, helpful and very cheerful. 100% recommend and we will not hesitate to stay again .

Staff friendly and rooms clean but for £135 for a double room and breakfast it wasnt good value for money and not up to standards you'd expect from a hotel chain. First thing you're greeted with a strong smell of damp at reception, I don't know if there has been a problem with flooding but it unfortunately sets the tone of the place being tired and run on a shoestring. The room was very dated, the WiFi presumably backed by a 28K modem of the era it was decorated, the mattress was overly firm, just overall very disappointing and a missed opportunity for a unique hotel that people would like to stay in.

First time visiting the mercure in Perth, lovely old building and what a lovely welcome on arrival from Steph. All staff on the desk spoke to us, if we were going out or returning Contacted the hotel directly before booking as my other half has mobility and breathing issues, and as there is no lift I was wondering if the mercure would be suitable. Spoke with Kerry, who made sure we had a ground floor room ( there 3 steps to get to ground floor ) so he wouldn't struggle. Restaurant is on 1st floor and there are two small flights of stairs to get to this, we were told if this was an issue they would set us a table at the bar so he wouldn't have to struggle. We tried the steps to Restaurant on first morning, and he was ok by just taking his time and using the hand rail for support. But we were pleased that Kerry went above and beyond before we had actually booked to make sure every issue would be covered. There are reviews mentioning that the hotel is tired and probably a little dated, this is correct, our room could be do with a refresh, however it was super clean, and the bed was comfortable . Personally I think these points are more important than the paint or carpets. Our booking did have breakfast, and as my other half managed to get up the stairs we were pleasantly surprised by the space in the restaurant. Well laid out, self service with breakfast items, coffee machine, toaster etc . Really enjoyed the breakfast ( and I can be fussy with places as they never seem to be hot enough) did not have that issue here. We didn't use the bar as we were out each evening at the theater, and last night on the way back I asked my other half if he did want a night cap, he declined so we went to bed, I drink Pernoid and more often than not they don't have it or don't know what it is, when we were waiting on the taxi this morning other half checking the whisky selection and then informed me the bar did have Pernoid So with such lovely warm customer service ( thank you Stephanie and Kerry ) and the bar stocking my favourite tipple, we will return

I stayed in rm 15 that could do with an update, saying that my work colleagues rooms were great complete with dressing gown and slippers. The reception staff were lovely and welcoming and the girls on the restaurant were friendly and very helpful, Sofia and Tamzin. The food was great also, I would stay again and ask for modern room.
