Just to be fair, I must say all the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Now for the negatives. We booked a suite for one night, including breakfast £289. On arrival we were told we needed to pay an extra £10 checking in fee!!! Or we could join their club, free booking in and a free drink each in the bar. Guess what we went for! Whilst waiting to book in (it took ages) I noticed thick dust along the skirting board at the reception counter and thick dust on the glass panels attached to the front of the counter which had lights behind. I popped upstairs to use the loo whilst waiting to check in and noticed black splodges on the stair carpet where something had obviously been spilt some time ago and not properly cleaned up, it obliterated the pattern! The corridor carpet to our room was ragged in places, rucked up and lifting in areas. In our room there were odd paint splodges on the doors where patching up had been done with a different paint. The furniture was chipped. There were 3 areas of torn off wallpaper above the headboard. There was thick dust on the neck of the desk lamp. Dirt along the skirting boards. Mould and orange stains on the grout in the shower area. Screws on the bathroom door handle were all at different angles and none fully seated. No wardrobe as such, just a hanging area that was far too narrow to put a coat hanger in. No sockets by the bed to plug in chargers. Only two sockets available at the desk. All in all, very tatty, shoddy and well overpriced. Also the pink neon lettering outside showing the name of the hotel was missing a letter. Very disappointing, we should have gone to Premier Inn.

Stayed here one night only thank god for Coldplay, this was unfortunately not a choice as it was a package deal with the ticket. I was very sceptical of this hotel as I had seen it from the outside and believed it was shut down for shock to find out. It was not shut down as the outside. Looks like something at the hotel Cecil. I was pleasantly surprised at the inside reception, and the staff seemed welcoming and helpful but we were unfortunately not informed of breakfast times or even breakfast is included in our package which it was. I feel like it’s common courtesy and part of your job to inform your guests. We were able to check in one hour early which we were grateful for. When we arrived to our room on the ninth floor, the room was okay but extremely dated and the windows I feel genuinely ashamed for this hotel that they have windows that look like that. We left the room and spent the day walking around. Manchester got some dinner and when we arrived back to our room after 20 minutes of waiting for the lift even though there are three lifts, I thought I would take a shower before the concert, and I honestly felt dirtier when I got out the shower then before I got in the room was honestly so unclean. The chair by the mirror looked like it was from a skip it had more leather torn away than what was left. The vanity table had what looked like teeth chunks taken out of it. There was glitter and gems on the floor from the previous guests and also pubic hairs on the bed on the ‘brand new’ toilet roll and in the bath. I was glad of a place to sleep for the night, but I am mortified that between me and my partner we paid £650 for two tickets and that hotel. If I was looking for positives, I was impressed the room had an ironing board, tea and coffee facilities and the mirror was next to the window. Unfortunately, I would have to say avoid at all costs which I don’t like to say, but I truly feel I have enough reason to say this. I am expecting the response from the hotel to be the same as the rest, but the cleanliness of the room has nothing to do with renovating. It has to do with standards and this hotel has no standards.

At check in a welcome letter is given with all relevant breakfast times and again this is included in the bedroom literature however I can see this from your side and will discuss with the team. I am glad you were able to check in early especially on Coldplay weekend. With regards to the cleanliness you are 100% correct and is just not acceptable and I shall be discussing this today with the housekeeping team. While I appreciate you dont want an answer including the refurb it would be wrong of me to not address the fact that the room was tired and old furniture this is why we are undertaking a bedroom and bathroom refurb project and the 9th floor is the floor we have just started this week. I do hope you will be able to return and see the changes we shall be making and hopefully the improvements. Thanks

Horror weekend

I can’t even explain how bad our stay was. We stayed Saturday to Monday as we were in Manchester to see Coldplay on Sunday night. We arrived late at 1am, got checked in and up to our room only to find the bed sheets were WET. Immediately returned to reception and told them we wouldn’t be staying in that room so we got another room, the second room was absolutely roasting and the windows didn’t open, turned on the a/c and it was blowing out HOT air, in the middle of a heatwave. Went back down to reception and got offered a fan, which I wasn’t happy with after paying nearly €400 for the room. Someone came to look at the air con and he rang reception to tell them to change the room which I overheard the guy at the other end say he had no rooms left. We were so tired at this point I agreed to go back to our first room if they changed the duvet cover. The next evening after being out all day we wanted to take a shower before the concert, no hot water. Went to reception to tell them which they said they’d move our room. Why should you have to move room just to take a hot shower? We didn’t move room because we had to go to the concert and when we got back the hot water was back. The WiFi may as well be non existent it didn’t work at all. The coverage is absolutely awful inside the hotel so best of luck trying to use your data. The hotel itself is absolutely filthy outside and looks really run down. I cannot even explain how unhappy we were with our experience I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

THE LEVEL 3 - restaurant only review. Went to the restaurant yesterday. Booked on the fork app & got 20% off food. Staff couldn't have bedn more helpful & helpee us book on the app & seated us i te window. Unfortunately thats where the goid stuf ended. Ordered calamari & alio oli & checken gnocci, my friend had salmon. When the gnocchi arrived it was greasy & unpalatable unfortunately. I sent it back & orderedthe salmon. 1 tiny bit , just a sliver really worth about 2 in total but charge £15 for it. Peppers were ok but the chubed potatoes were frozen & dry. Wouldnt go back u less it was 50% off or more

So bad. Completely disgusted at the price we paid for 2 nights and what we received for this price. Definitely not a 4 star, a 2 star at best. Room/bathroom dirty, walls are paper thin and have a door joining into the other room (I assume for family bookings, a booking we didn’t choose) which leaves a lot of room for noise disruption from guests in the other room and people turning the handle during the night. Little to no hot water in the bathroom, you have to fight with the taps and leave it to run to even get it lukewarm. When I spoke to a manager, they didn’t really seem interested in helping and gave “put a plaster over it” solutions such as putting an air freshener in the bathroom and “radioing” housekeeping to actually replace the towels 6 hours after we requested it in the morning. A free breakfast was given, which was appreciated, but a percentage of a refund would have been much preferred. Feel totally deflated as this was a birthday weekend for our friend but the experience in this hotel has left a bad taste. Avoid at all costs. Worst place I’ve ever stayed in the UK. Would rather have slept rough and saved £540.
