Having read the reviews I wasn't looking forward to my stay however I was checked in by Deep who was very friendly and explained all the arrangements in place for me and location of my room and restaurant etc in great detail, in fact all the staff I came across from reception to the bar and restaurant area were fantastic, very friendly and warm towards me. I was given a room on the 12th floor with fantastic views across the city facing away from Piccadilly gardens, very little noise from outside though I found the window could use replacing. I believe my room had been refurbished but some fixtures and fittings could use updating such as the shower head as the water pressure wasn't great and the ceiling was quite low for a tall person using the shower. The bed and room in general was very comfortable with good amenities however no plug next to the bed was a little annoying. The worst part about the room is the lack of insulation as you could hear your room neighbours coming back late and having a conversation through the wall whilst trying to sleep! I dined in and had breakfast, the food choices and quality was good and I enjoyed it with a 241 cocktail offer overlooking the city. I appreciated there was a pool table at the bar too and the restaurant was very quiet so no service issues at all. Staff were very attentive and chatty which made the stay a pleasant experience. Would return again provided I had a similar room, if they could make some tweaks to the rooms it would really improve the experience.

Great location and all the staff were welcoming. Beautiful chandeliers in the function room. Attended a large event of approx 250 people. Only 3 bar staff on first night so wait for drinks was long. We had curry and rice for lunch, then the evening meal and lunch again the next day. Staff couldn’t keep up with the numbers and kept running out of food. Not enough seating in bar/restaurant so people were standing to eat. No sugar in my room and paintwork was damaged in many places. The rooms looked tired. Used glasses and mugs didn’t get replaced and no sugar or coffee added to room after asking. Was a hotel member so a free drink supplied at bar. Did not feel anything like a 4* hotel.

It sounds like there were some organizational and maintenance challenges that detracted from your overall experience, despite the hotel’s positive location and welcoming staff. Large events can sometimes stretch a venue's resources, and it’s unfortunate that these issues affected your stay. Providing feedback to the hotel, especially on aspects like room upkeep, bar staffing, and dining logistics, can be helpful for improving guest experiences in the future. We stayed here for the weekend as the hotel were hosting an event with Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. The event itself was excellent and we stayed here as it was convenient to do so The location is excellent, a stones throw away from the nearest tram stop. The facilities were good, nice big room with a good size bathroom. Only negative was the amount of tea bags they provide - could have had a few more We had a drink in the upstairs bar and the view was great- definitely get a window seat! Mikey was very attentive and made us feel welcome

Trying to look good, but not getting there.

Many things not good enough: 1. Great views from 9th floor, but lots of condensation, so couldn't see very well. 2. Room not serviced. Told reception and just asked for new cups and decafinated teabags. Housekeeping arrived without decafinated teabags and said they didn't have them. I said they did as reception had provided them to me the day before. He went away and never returned. 3. Food was poor, trying to look good, but failing. E.g. At conference lunch only vegetarian food when we got there, said chicken was on its way, but never saw it. 4. No toilets on floor with restaurant and conference room. We took the lift back to our room each time we needed the toilet, as I have mobility difficulties, and don't like stairs. 5. Poor lighting in our room. No main light. The only lights were switched on next to our bed in a dark room. Plus many other problems. As above, raising issues didn't help, hence this review.

We are taking this seriously and will ensure that our service during events is both timely and consistent to avoid disappointing our guests in the future. I understand the inconvenience caused by the lack of toilets on the restaurant and conference room floor, particularly with your mobility difficulties. We recognize that accessibility is crucial, and we will review our facilities to see how we can better accommodate guests with similar needs. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it helps us identify important areas where we can improve. Finally, I regret that the lighting in your room was not up to standard. A comfortable and well-lit room is essential to creating a welcoming atmosphere, and I’m sorry that this was not the case during your stay. We will be looking into the lighting arrangements in our rooms to ensure they are more practical for our guests. Once again, I apologize for the issues you encountered, and I thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We value your input and will use it to improve our service. Excellent city centre location. Clean comfortable bedroom and superb buffet breakfast. As a hotel manager myself I can't fault this hotel. Only stayed one night as we were going to a concert at the new coop live arena. Also the staff were excellent. We will definitely return
