I booked an Afternoon Tea in a Pod for my Mums 60th Birthday for 4 of us. We had a wonderful experience, she was truly surprised when we arrived.. such a beautiful, tranquil setting and the Pod made it feel even more special. The food was absolutely delicious and plenty of it. The staff were so attentive, really went about and beyond, really making my mum feel special. We were so relaxed and didn’t feel rushed at all. We were able to play our own music on the Bluetooth speaker that was provided, which was a nice touch. Also the heater/ air conditioner was a great idea. Definitely one of the best Afternoon Teas we’ve had. We really look forward to visiting again soon.

We had a wonderful sparkling afternoon tea to celebrate a 50th birthday and it was faultless! Everything from the tea to the Prosecco and the mouthwatering sandwiches to the delicious cakes and scones were wonderful. A great location and amazing staff it was the perfect venue. The chef even sent out a special platter for the birthday ‘girl’. Thanks for making this celebration so wonderful!

Had the most perfect stay: the view from our room was lovely, we had a delicious meal in the pod on the evening and the pod was really cosy, the staff were so helpful and made sure we were happy and comfortable during our stay. The breakfast the next day was yummy. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all of the staff at Bowden Hall.

Historic Property in Upton St Leonards, near but not in Gloucester

The hotel is 15 minutes outside of Gloucester. It is housed in a heritage-listed house. I found the check-in process to be efficient but not friendly. Our room was on the 2nd level. There is no elevator so if you have luggage make sure to ask reception for assistance taking up to your room. It may have been the dishes my wife and I ordered for dinner but we both found the food unsatisfactory (after tasting my wife did not eat the meal). On the other hand, breakfast was good. Friendly staff and a good choice of food. The bed was comfortable (pillows were like pancakes). The room was very clean.

My wife and I have a lovely weekend stay. I would highlight the staff all of whom were both helpful and extremely friendly. The hotel is set in lovely grounds, although due to the weather we did not explore, but stayed within the hotel which was warm and comfortable. We will return.
