Unsatisfactory breakfast - many items had run out by 08.30

We're regular guests at this hotel and are Accor members. We've always found it very good. In the past, I've even given the breakfast a good review, saying it was very good value. Not this morning (13th Sept.). We arrived in the breakfast room at 08.30 - not late for a weekend. But by the time we'd got there there was no porridge, no fruits of the forest and fruit compote, and only two pain au raisins left - both so pale and gooey and insipid that they looked as if someone had forgotten to put them in the oven. I asked where were all the things we normally like to eat, and I was told, 'They're all gone'. This is very unsatisfactory. Yes, the hotel was full - there was coach party staying overnight. But if you know you're fully booked, surely you order in extra breakfast items! Very unimpressive that this wasn't done. Today, our breakfast wasn't worth the money. I doubt if tomorrow's breakfast will be any better. The only saving grace of this stay was, as always, the excelent Abby on reception, who's brilliant, and always extends such a warm and friendly welcome to us, and to all guests. The catering manager, however, needs to get her or his act together.

I understand we did recover for the next morning, Sunday 14th which helps a little. Thank you for your kind words regarding Abbie, we all agree her welcome is amazing!!
