The Novotel worked really well for us. We only had breakfast, but that was standard and tasty. The waitress was extremely busy but very good, two days on the trot. The rooms are nice although the separate toilet is a bit strange. Our room had a strong smell of something like cigars which we couldn’t understand. The view of the flat roof is very dull and could do with some greenery.

We had a quite excellent stay. The upgraded room was extremely comfortable and the staff were really pleasant, friendly and helpful. We arrived early after a long trip. The young man on reception said he would do his best to get us as room asap, particularly as he knew my wife wasn't feeling well. We had a drink in the lounge and he kept us updated and in no time at at reported that a room was ready. Exceptional service. At breakfast the very industrious Geoff was really a star. Helpful, very pleasant and a guy who lit up the place without being intrusive. All in all as good a stay that I've had a hotel in quite a while. Well done Team Ipswich.

Very comfortable stay, the rooms are of a good standard and the shower/bathroom particularly nice. The bar closed very early and would have been nice to have fresh filter coffee at breakfast.
