Let Down by Ibis Charles de Gaulle – A Low Point in Our France Trip

This was my first stay at an Ibis hotel—and most likely my last. I’m writing this from an uncomfortably warm room in Paris, in early May, during a week when temperatures have consistently been in the upper 20s to low 30s Celsius—unusually hot for this time of year. When we arrived, the room felt like a sauna. We turned on the air conditioning, but quickly realized it wasn’t working. After checking with the front desk, we found the staff visibly sweating and fanning themselves. They explained that it’s hotel policy not to activate the AC until June. Frankly, I find this policy out of touch with current climate realities. Shouldn’t decisions about cooling be based on actual temperatures, not arbitrary dates? Guests’ comfort should come first—especially in the face of increasingly unpredictable weather. It’s disappointing that the hotel seems unwilling to adapt or prioritize guest experience.

Our journey was over, a very good one it was and then we were headed home. We had a day left, which we were going to spend in downtown Paris, The next day we would board our flight back to Canada. The Ibis Styles was the perfect spot from which we could do this. It was easy to catch the train to Paris, the station was just a 100 metres away. The hotel itself is very modern, the rooms comfortable, the staff very friendly and the breakfast the next morning grand. The walk around Paris was a great end to our trip. Until next time, au revoir!

The room smelled bad, but it was clean. The receptionist wasn't friendly, she was "just at work". The elevators were in bad condition and you have to wait for those a long time. This is not a hotel, this is a poor room like hostels. Yack! Beer was good but priceless. I'm so happy that my flight is leaving after one night...

I've stayed here 3×, in order to have less stress getting to my flights home to Canada. Checking in or out still easy & fast, with good, helpful staff. The menu & food selection improved, providing options for meat eaters & veggies alike in a good way. I liked the new buffet style starter & desert selection/options. I had the ribs, and pleased with my dinner Prices are decent/good for the quality & quantity. Much better than the mediocre lunch I had on Blvd Montparnasse a couple days prior. Staff here also good. I'll continue to stay here anytime I'm leaving Paris. Downside is lack of kettle & minbar/ fridge.

The hotel is very conveniently located just outside Terminal 3, connected with all other terminals and car park via the free CDGVAL shuttle train that runs every few minutes 24/7. The hotel is modern, clean, and essential, it offers all the comfort though it's a bit expensive but I guess it's just because of the location. The staff is very nice, friendly and professional, The restaurant and bar service is super fast and efficient and the food is decent and affordable. The breakfast has a huge variety and spread and very good quality items. I strongly recommend this place if you need a short stay by the airport for your connecting flight or like in my case because of a flight cancellation.
