I spent a lot of time on Tripadvisor trying to find a really good CGD Paris airport hotel . French friends of mine said there is no such a thing, and since it’s only for one night, just grin and bear it. And that’s what happened. I chose the Pullman hotel, owned by ACCOR, who also operates Sofitel hotels. As we got off the CDG airport to hotel shuttle, my first glance of the Pullman made me think there was something wrong with the reviews. I soon found out that was not the case. For starters, the staff seems to have a thing (not a favorable thing) when it comes to people who don’t speak French. They are perfunctory, but not warm or friendly. The check-in staffer chose to ride up the elevator with us to our room. The second we walked into the room, the disgusting smell of cigarette smoke almost knocked us over. The check-in person didn’t actually acknowledge the smell, but she agreed to come up with a different room. That second room did not have a cigarette smell, but we quickly learn its air conditioning was not functioning properly. I had to call three times before a repairman came to the door. Once inside, he took some panels off, banged around, and then told me that everything should be fine. When I asked him specifically what he did, he hemmed and hawed, and finally said that he changed a component in the system. When I reached up to feel the incoming air, it still wasn’t cool. He said give it some time. Result… It never got any cooler. There are no restaurants within easy walking distance from the Pullman, so he looked at the hotel restaurant menu which was full of 35 and up French euros. Nothing looked appealing on the menu. So we walked across the street to the Ibis hotel, and had a couple of “eh” burgers. The interior of the rooms at the Pullman have a dangerous design feature. There is an approximately 6 x 6” wooden board that runs along the wall from the sleeping area and sticks out into the walking area past the bathroom. If anyone banged into it the way to the bathroom during the night, I’ve no doubt they would be significantly injured. There is a second horizontal board that runs about a foot off the ground towards the front door, again with no specific purpose except to protrude into the walk area. There is no purpose for either of these boards that jut out into the room. When I went into the Business Center (or whatever they call it), the computers and printer were down. Upon checking, they took an additional €100 deposit after they had already charged me for the room. When asked why they said that was just for incidentals. The next morning when we went to check out, not only did we run into two different employees who had sour attitudes, but we never did get a receipt showing that our hundred euros had been credited back. Upon leaving for the shuttle, the person who checked us out asked how we enjoyed the breakfast. We said we didn’t have breakfast. We were told “Oh yes, it’s included in the room rate”. If we actually had been told that, we would have gone down 20 minutes early. Of course, we were not informed of the inclusive breakfast. By the way… The rate for this “experience’ was over €300.

Pullman Roissy du pole Very elegant hotel just outside Terminal 3 in the Charles De GAULLE airport. It sits directly across from the terminal so it is easy to roll your luggage from the hotel to the shuttle that takes you to the other terminals and parking lots Px and Pz. It you are returning a rental car it is a bit difficult to stop and drop off your luggage before returning the car- they make no provision for this unless you stop in the taxi only lane and take your chances with an irate taxi driver. There is a single space just past the taxi drive around the corner that we took advantage of leaving the car with flashers there for a few minutes. You’d think they’d provide room for a few cars to drop off directly in front of the hotel- there is certainly room for them. Anyway another issue unrelated to the hotel- if you are driving a rental car obtained somewhere else than this airport make sure they tell you which letter your rental company uses for its lot. Signs just say car return A-D or E-F. No names. While you are endlessly circling the maze of roads you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse below you of the car rental lots that have poles with the rental company names displayed. We were fortunate enough to see our Alamo car didn’t match any of the names in car park A-D and eventually found E-F where Enterprise/National/Alamo is hidden. Once there the process was easy and you can walk to the closest terminal to take the CDGVAL free shuttle to your hotel or another terminal. Back to the hotel: very large and clean room. The toilet sits in its own room with no sink. The bathroom has a nice sized shower and sink with adequate storage space. The room has good hanging space and a large shelf big enough to place two large luggage pieces. There is a lighted mirror with a shelf and supplied hair dryer in the hall. There are nice reading lights on both sides of the bed. Desk space was generous but to get the use of 2 outlets you had to unplug the hot water kettle. Night stands were generously sized and had power and USB ports on one- just power on the other. The room was very quiet. Lobby was very large and stylish and includes a good sized bar. The hotel restaurant was pleasant but vegetarian options were limited. Staff in the restaurant and on the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The office had 3 computers and a printer- unfortunately none were working and the staff couldn’t get them to work. We had to leave very early for our flights so didn’t sample the breakfast available. Overall very nice experience and being right in the airport is extremely convenient.

Staffs are helpful, patient and very polite. Room was so spacious, clean and with a modern design. Not to mention the fitness facilities was so worth to spend your time there, especially the swimming pool and sauna. We order through room service and the food are very delicious. All staffs are so so nice and very professional. Cannot believe Pullman only rated 4-stars, I really received a Five Stars hotel service here!

Exhausted and super disappointed! Arrived at 12:30 am, check in was quick as I was the only one. Was not informed and given a room with handicap facility which I am very uncomfortable with, I was expecting a bath tub – that was the reason why I booked this hotel knowing I will be so tired when I arrive tonight. Called reception and requested to change to another room, RAPHAEL (this guy is with serious attitude problem which he really should not work in the service industry pls! Shocking bad!) at the reception told me the hotel is fully booked due to there is a trade fair happening “right now”. But knowing that trade fair Masion et Object finished YESTERDAY, I went on line and see if there are still room available, and of course there is. So I went down to the reception again to ask RAPHAEL to kindly check again if there are any room I can change to, as the hotel is clearly not fully booked tonight. He then told me the type of room I paid for is fully booked but they have OTHER types of rooms available. So I asked to pay more and have an upgrade. RAPHAEL then told me “because YOU booked through hotel.com we cannot upgrade for you even if you want to pay, there is nothing we can do for you for your booking, or you can pay for another room if you really want to change to another room”. I was not asking for much, I know Pullman is just a business hotel and I should not expect much, even the hotel.com booking is not flexible I can understand that, but having treated the way I was treated as a customer…. It’s a bit too much, it’s not right! The whole experience was very unpleasant, there are no basic courtesy from the reception to a customer. By the way there is no hot food in room service after 12 am, only ONE salad if you are hungry, I needed to go next door to ibis style and got myself some hot soup and food. Yes even ibis is better, the staffs there were friendly and helpful. Pullman CDG Service is so bad up to a point you cannot believe it! Maybe its just that one RAPHAEL but that pull down the impression of the while hotel!

We had a mid morning international flight so wanted to stay as close as possible to the airport. The complimentary VAL CDG tram was literally across from the hotel. The international flights were in Terminal 2 and it took less than 10 minutes to arrive there. There were many signs to help a person head the correct direction. We booked a room with a king size bed and a pullout sofa for our daughter. We arrived at midnight on a late flight and assumed the sofa bed would be made up…wrong. We had to go downstairs to ask for bedding and then make up the bed The 2 rooms were quite large but it was odd and very inconvenient that the toilet was not in the main bedroom but in the living room where the sofa bed was. We booked through Expedia so the breakfast buffet was complimentary. We were pleasantly surprised that it was above average. The best part of the hotel was definitely the location.
