Stayed at the hotel for one night. 5 min tram from the main station or city centre. There’s two tram stops for this hotel; one over the main bridge and one at the back by the Novotel entrance. There’s reception staff 24hrs. Check in was easy and you get a free Basel travel pass. Room smelt a bit funny when entering and unfortunately you can’t open the windows. The aircon system didn’t seem to work or wasn’t cold enough. I’ve never stayed at an ibis budget before but how they configured the room is quite clever and different. Basic room. Separate toilet, shower was divided with a curtain, tv, corner table and chair, electric blinds. Touch lights by the beds. I slept on the top bunk which seemed smaller than other beds I’ve slept in and there was a weird gap at the top where you sleep. Pillows were very small. Only one set of sockets on the table. I sleep easily however you can still hear the trains screeching/braking so if you have trouble sleeping, this hotel might not be suitable for you. They have a small communal kettle in the lobby by the chargeable coffee machine, along with a few vending machines with snacks and sandwiches. Hair dryer is available at reception with a returnable €20 deposit.

Get what you pay for! Watch out for the plug sockets they’re not the classic European!

A very basic Hotel but for one night it wasn’t too bad. Just a few things to be aware of, the shower goes on at cold, the toilet is basically in a cupboard and the charger ports I’m guessing are Swiss but not the classic European plug so make sure you have a Swiss plug (in the shape of a diamond) or you can’t charge devices. All in all it’s get what you pay for and it does the job! The lobby is also nice and clean!

This was the first time I have stayed at an Ibis budget hotel. It was reasonable. The bed was comfortable and bathroom adequate. The room was clean.A good option for budget accomodation.

Great location, super polite staff, minimalistic rooms but very clean, quiet and well furnished. Buffet for breakfast, got some nice stuff to eat. I really recommend it as it is close to the railway station and trams. This was my second visit and I will always choose Ibis budget for sure.

Stayed here mainly because it was a good price and close to the train station. The room was clean and had good wifi. I just used it as a home base. I didnt eat or use any of the facilities at all. I would stay again if I got it for the same price for a home base.
