adagio 브랜드는 처음 이용해봤는데, 마치 내 방을 그대로 옮겨놓은 것처럼 호텔 이름 그대로 apartment의 모든 시설이 갖춰져 있어서 너무나 편리했어요. 특히 스위스 숙소의 높은 가격대를 생각한다면, 이정도로 합리적인 가격이 이렇게 좋은 위치, 이렇게 좋은 시설은 정말 상상하기 어려울 정도로 만족스러웠어요. 다음에 바젤에 머문다면 고민하지도 않고 이 곳을 다시 선택하고 싶어요.

This place is like a bad college dorm and the staff will try to rip you off

- Rude staff - Minimal amenities. One gel provided in place of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, and lotion. Have to pay extra to get an extra towel! Nespresso machine but no pods. - Uncomfortable furniture in room. Felt like a college dormitory. The legs of my bed were tilted in and the window curtains were partially unhooked from the track. - Laundry room has very unclear instructions and door on English machine was broken. You have to pay for each 2hr token, and if your laundry cycle is conveniently 2:06, you don't get the 1:54 remainder back from your second token. - There is no AC - there is a room fan system, which is very weak. Most windows are not openable. The rude staff member (female, dark hair, dark glasses) lied to me and said "AC is illegal in Basel". - Main issue: on the first day of my long stay I realized the hotel was awful and I had to leave, so I talked to the morning receptionists and they accepted my proposal to check out after the second day. So I went and paid for alternate travel plans. That evening, a different employee reneged on this decision and decided I had to pay for the entire stay "because there is a local conference". This is Basel - there is a conference every week. So for an entire day I thought I would have to pay for the original stay length, even though I was literally leaving because of my changed travel plans. I had to fight via a travel agent for the hotel to honor their word. At the end of the day, they emailed me "here is your receipt for only your 2 day stay" with minimal apology. It sounds like they only allowed the change once they found out I work for a large local employer and they were afraid about retribution / future fellow employees not using their hotel.

To the extent that I have rated this apartment hotel as much as three stars is due to the friendly and helpful staff, otherwise I would have rated it lower. Our apartment was spacious but uncomfortable, with an odd assortment of furniture, none of it comfortable, including the bed. Plugs in the bathroom did not work. The heating was unable to be individually adjusted or turned off, and was very hot. Luckily we could open the window. The bedroom smelt of dog! The TV stations were only in German, which is fine for locals but not tourists. An advantage is the laundry facilities that guests can use at a cost (washer and dryer) which was very useful. Wifi worked well. There is a supermarket and public transport very close by, but the location of the hotel is not very attractive. Basel is a lovely city but you have to go across the river from the hotel to experience the best of it.

This is very good value considering how expensive Switzerland is. The room was very spacious and clean. There is a small kitchen area if you want to do a bit of self catering. The location is not far from the tram stop and center of Basel. Will definitely use again next time I visit.
