Be sure not to be allocated room 108!

Be sure as a solo traveller you are not allocated room 108. It must be the smallest room in the entire Mercure hotel with one of the highest tariffs per sq foot. The room has one single bed, all that will fit in the tiny cupboard like space, there is minimal natural light coming from a frosted glass window. The air-conditioning was not working, and the narrow empty floor space (voice of furniture) was for me, a Parkinsons patient, a definite trip hazard. All that for the sum of 278 Pounds sterling per night. Had I not been staying longer than one night I certainly would have demanded a room with larger floor space. On the positive side it was very clean and the staff pleasant.

Lovely Hotel in beautiful Paddington, literal steps from Paddington station . We were given a free room upgrade upon checking in and the room was lovely very clean and quiet. Staff were very friendly and responded all our needs especially Abdul.

Nice location but rooms need updating

This is the first time I’ve used the Mercure and the experience is very average. The rooms are very small and in need of updating badly. Dark furniture in a small room makes it feel smaller. Shower is good and the bathroom is decent. The staff looked really unhappy when we interacted with them with the exception of the reception team. Breakfast at Benny and Jerry’s is ok although you need to have a voucher from reception which is faff….plus check what’s allowed before you select. The Mercure is in a great location and near to Paddington and Edgware Road tube stations and there are plenty of buses and taxis.

Truly awful, never again

This is positively the nastiest hotel room I have used in many stays in London. Room 419 was squalid - the shower and TV do not work, its Tony window opens onto an internal tunnel of some kind, the aircon is broken. The room was not cleaned properly, and on one night a pillowcase appeared to be covered in blood or ketchup or something vile. I will do anything I can to avoid this hotel in the future, and have asked my work to make sure no one has to use this venue.

It was worse to stay in room which is smaller than average washroom, i paid them full and saw on net before booking. I also gave them instructions too but they gave me room which is lie store with no viee and bed like dormatory, i trusted brabd mercure and today my trust in brand goes for ever. I requested manager and front office guy too but no help. I even can breathe properly in room. Dont trust and dont stay without looking room. Room No 208 please view chart.
