loved the hotel, it’s food, dining and amenities! views from the hotel are stunning.special shout-out to Gonzalo for his service and recommendations. the casino is huge and the pool and spa are amazing. recommend to visit 10/10

beautiful hotel but service needs to improve, breakfast is very expensive and not according to other accor hotels, few choices, eggs impossible to eat, terrible coffe and of course,if i want an expresso i had to pay. no slippers and covid is the excuse for everything, i was with other couples that had a very dirty room. only 2 bottles os water in the fridge, I had to go downstairs to take my medicine (never seen this before!!!). they need to improve many things otherwise don't give sofitel brand, maybe only mercure ore novotel.

My husband and I spent a week in this wonderful hotel. The manager Juan Peña was so congenial & made our stay perfect. Our room was beautiful. He and his staff made many dinner reservations, transportation and touring arrangements for us. The tour company was Transhotel- they were excellent as well. Everyone on the staff at this hotel, restaurant, spa, bar, housekeeping, bellman, and casino were attentive and provided excellent service. It is just a beautiful historic hotel on a beautiful property right across from the water & the ramble.

Beautiful historic hotel in a good location. Staff was nice and helpful. Rooms were clean, just a little dated. Beds were comfortable. The water closet is on the other side of where the shower is, so that was interesting. Shower pressure is great, but the way it’s shaped the floor got pretty wet every time. Getting a nice window view at the back of the hotel is optimal as there will be something to see in the day and evening. Great thing about the hotel is the awesome location. You are in front of the riverside, but in the back of the hotel you are in walking distance to tons of great shops and restaurants. The area feels safe and the walk is easy to tons of stores.

I've just arrived at Sofitel Montevideo, after a 15h trip. I was very happy to go to Sofitel as i thought after a long trip, i'd feel like home. I'm a GOLD Member in the loyalty program because i'm loyal to that brand. They gave a me a room that is clearly not at the standard of what one would expect. Localtion and view are bad... and for a 1st time in Montevideo i was expecting a better experience. So i knidly call reception to ask for a room change. I've been a Gold member for a while, and i've always been treated really well. They usually try everything they can to give you satisfaction. This time is the total opposite!! The person i got at the reception told me there were no other room available. I then asked him if the hotel was full, he told me no. I thus ask why i couldn't change room. He told me that there were no other room ready. It's 9am, i guess there is some roomkeeping staff around that he could send to have a room ready. His only answer was to tell me very sharply that there will be no room available for me before 3pm!! That's definitly not the kind of service you expect from a hotel that belong to a chain that you're very loyal to. That's not acceptable for me anyway. What's the point of being loyal if you're treated so poorly....?
