Apart from the fact that the hotel is very well located, close to the metro and small restaurants, I would like to thank the team, particularly Alessia and Emanoel, for their kindness and for the attention they gave to my daughter's birthday in her room. We came from France to celebrate her 7th birthday. She is a Harry Potter fan and felt like she was being welcomed at Hogwarts. Thank you for making this event even better. The breakfast was also perfect!

I have stayed at various places around London over the years, but was a bit hesitant to try Blackfriars because I thought it was remote. I was wrong about that as there is a tube station less than 300 feet away and that line goes right to Green Park - just west of Piccadilly. So actually, the location is very convenient. I thought the hotel staff was really nice and my room was just fine. In particular, I appreciate that the manager fixed an earlier reservation snafu when Ibis customer service refused to. Thanks much.

Great Budget Stay in a Well-Connected Location

We recently stayed at ibis London Blackfriars and had a very good experience overall. This is a well-located budget hotel that delivers exactly what you’d expect: clean, functional rooms, efficient service, and great transport links. Check-in & Service Check-in was quick and hassle-free. We arrived early, and the staff kindly stored our luggage while we explored the city. Throughout our stay, the team was friendly and helpful. One thing we really appreciated was that the hotel allows you to store your luggage on the last day, making it easy to explore without carrying bags around. Rooms & Comfort The rooms are basic but well-equipped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (seems to be memory foam), and we had plenty of towels. The bathroom is a pod-style unit, all plastic but practical and clean. Our room was located right by the elevator (Room 1124), but noise was never an issue. The only downside is that the window is quite small, but since we spent most of our time exploring, it didn’t bother us. Dining & Bar Options We had breakfast in the hotel one morning, which was a simple but good buffet. You pay just before eating, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The hotel’s bar and restaurant are combined in the lobby, which is a casual and comfortable space. If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, the Novotel next door has a lovely bar—we went there twice for drinks and found the service excellent. Transport & Location This hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring London. It’s well connected by public transport: • Southwark Tube Station (Jubilee Line) is just 100 meters away. • Blackfriars Tube Station (Circle & District Lines) is a few blocks away at the bridge. There’s also a taxi rank outside, though taking a cab can be pricey—we paid around £16 into the city. That said, London is a great city for walking, and we often opted to explore on foot. On our last day, we realized how convenient the location was: after visiting the Houses of Parliament, we crossed the river to check out the Leake Street Graffiti Tunnel, only to find ourselves back at Waterloo Station, just five minutes from the hotel. If the weather is nice, I’d highly recommend walking into central London—it takes around 20 to 25 minutes and is a great way to soak in the city. Neighborhood & Safety The area around the hotel is quiet and pleasant, a nice break from the crowds of Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. However, a quick safety tip: be aware of phone snatchers on electric mopeds. This nearly happened to us on our way to dinner—a group attempted to grab a phone, but luckily, it hit the ground instead. It was more of an opportunistic crime than anything violent, but it’s worth staying alert when using your phone in public. Final Thoughts Overall, ibis London Blackfriars is a solid choice for a budget-friendly stay in a well-connected part of London. The staff are great, the rooms are comfortable, and the transport options are excellent. If you’re looking for an affordable hotel with no frills but everything you need, this is a great option. We’d definitely stay here again!

Great Location & Friendly Staff

Spent the night before our return flight and used the hotel as a base for some sightseeing. Location: Ideally situated just 350 feet from Southwark Underground Station and directly opposite a bus stop—very convenient for getting around. However, the station was unexpectedly closed for rail engineering on the morning of our departure. It would have been helpful if the hotel staff had mentioned this, but they may have overlooked it. Had to walk to Waterloo with bags. Room: We stayed in an accessible twin room (the only one available at the time). It felt a bit compact, likely due to its adapted layout, but was very close to the elevator, which was convenient. Restaurant: Stylishly decorated with a welcoming atmosphere. We had an enjoyable meal, opting for the GBP 20 dinner special (pizza and a pint)—great value! The staff were exceptionally friendly. Facilities & Service: Used the baggage storage, which was ideal for our plans. We also requested an extra duvet, and the staff member who brought it to us was incredibly kind and attentive. Overall, a pleasant stay with great service and a fantastic location!

Theft in hotel

Handy location and convenient walk from Southwark, Waterloo and Blackfriars Road tube station. I stayed here on a business trip for 3 nights. But found the staff to be unprofessional and unfriendly. Also my expensive Apple charger worth £40 was taken out of my room after the 2nd night to which they denied and did not even try to resolve the issue except flock me off to file a police report. I shall be telling me all my colleagues not to stay here and I won’t be returning. The room were noisy and pillows were too soft to sleep on!
