I'm genuinely surprised by the positive reviews for this hotel. They've clearly spent some money making the lobby and bar area feel modern and cool but I stay in a hotel for the rooms, not the bar, and they really do need to invest in the rooms. It's definitely not 4 star standard. The room wa just tired. The carpet feels old. The bed is tiny for a double. Never seen such a small double bed. There's condensation all over the inside of the window. The aircon is terrible. The safe didn't work. The paint on the bathroom door was peeling. The sink is stained. The surfaces in the room were very dusty. It was noisy with the traffic in the street outside. I realise it's central London but modern glazing would keep that noise out. This just is not the standard of other Mercure hotels I've used. I used to find Mercure was a higher standard than Novotel but I'm finding it the other way round now and will try the nearby Novotel next time too. Reception don't answer the phone when you call to report an issue. The gym is okay but very small. It was far too warm for a gym though. A gym should be air conditioned and cool. The breakfast was okay. I tried to use my free welcome drink voucher as an Accor Gold member but after waiting at the bar for 10 minutes, nobody staff member turned up to serve me so I gave up. The only positives I can mention are the nespresso machine in the room, good storage in the room and the water bottle refill point is a good idea to help reduce single use plastic. I will not stay here again and would not recommend it.

Mercure London Bridge is a great hotel in an excellent location close to Tate and Borough Market and away from busy areas of London with great connections to Tube stations. What draws us to this hotel is the great service and on this occasion we were again provided with wonderful customer service from Mathew. Mathew was very helpful with our specific needs and went out of his was to be helpful. Our stay was made very special with Mathews attentive and proactive service and has been a great ambassador and needs recognition. Thank you Mathew for your wonderful service and we will be back.

Slow check in Room is ok but basic .. double bed is singles pushed together The carpets are worn and need refreshing Staff do not speak English well in the English capital city Whole place is freezing and wore coat and scarf at dinner .. told staff it was freezing, not sure their English was able to understand Ate here too.. mistake as specials not actually available .., no Chardonnay No water refreshed Mediocre at best

Lovely hotel. Had a brief stay here as we had to get up early for a tour the day afterwards. The staff are welcoming. The room was great and had a mini fridge, lovely shower and comfortable bed and a coffee machine. We were able to leave our cases in a luggage room and collect them later in the afternoon. The staff are so helpful.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are beautiful and spacious and the hotel is situated really close to the tube station. The beds are so comfortable and the fresh filtered water is a really nice addition. Everything is clean and it has all the amenities you could need. The service is also impeccable. Hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed in.
