We stayed at Clare Mountain Lodge for three days with family and friends. Rooms were okay. Fairly clean bed was very soft very bouncy. Not comfortable at all. Bathroom was okay but need updating TV. Quite small on the wall had problems but issues were raised and fixed promptly. The patio furniture was horrible. Very cheap. Not comfortable to sit in the air conditioning was good. The on-site restaurant was okay but yet again needs an update tables with very dirty food in the evening. Was it okay but the menu did not suit the venue. The menu was very odd and very expensive for what you got. The pool area was very sparse. There was no depth markers around the pool to tell you how deep the pool was a lot of leaves in the pool was not clean on a daily basis very little furniture

1 absolutely disgraceful. Our room wasn’t ready. We were asked to leave and go down the hill get something to eat and come back later . When we entered it was so small , and a far cry from the images on the website all round. A money grab for New Year’s I would assume . Staff were not the least bit welcoming on arrival . We booked this hotel due to its location from the airport. After driving 1 1/2 hours from Noosa just to turn back and go back home , which left us having to leave New Year’s morning very early hours with a nine month old baby who was ill. Enter at your own risk !

Good welcome, room clean and tidy. Rain head shower but no slide shower which would have been a good idea to incorporate as there weren't shower caps in bathroom. Bed wasn't great as was bouncy so when you turned over nearly bounced out the bed. Good food in restaurant, service good but no real bar seating area and part of the dining room was in the dark with mismatched dining furniture.

Ok we weren’t expecting much given the reviews but it really wasn’t that bad. Rooms ok, clean, ours had a coffee machine, fridge, quiet air con, big tv, lots of movies and foxtel. Standard rooms at the front (seemed to have a lick of paint and much better than described on these reviews!), deluxe at the back (smaller but a tiny bit more modern). Shared areas need a bit of TLC/maintenance such as the ignored gardens and walkways (lots of bugs in the shared walkways by the standard rooms at the front). Swimming pool only had 2 sun loungers so could do with more….Bit of a squash and a squeeze by the pool as there isn’t much lounging room. No gym as undergoing maintenance (for ages now). No water in the rooms but you can grab bottles from the restaurant which is easy to do. Staff happy to accommodate and were all lovely. The Groupon deal was great, bottle of wine and cheese platter. Breakfast good and we only ate dinner once which was fine (with a 25% voucher off thanks to Groupon!). All in all was a pleasant stay. I wouldn’t book more than 2 nights unless you’re using this as a base to explore/hike. There really aren’t any areas at the hotel to relax unless in the pool or restaurant. Overall though I’d be happy to stay again, it’s a bit rustic but it is up in the mountain. Don’t be put off by some of the reviews, it’s really not that bad!

We had a two night dinner package through Luxury Escapes which proved excellent value for money. Our room was clean and spacious with tree top views to Lake Samsonvale and Deception Bay. Could not fault the staff who were friendly and helpful. The restaurant served high quality food and more amazing views of Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Glasshouse Mountains. Buffet breakfast on the restaurant balcony was a special experience. While we were very happy with our experience, the Lodge is showing its age and lacks some of the facilities that might be needed by those with mobility issues, e.g. there is no lift and it's built over several levels on the side of the mountain. Also, the restaurant is accessed via stairs or a longish walk through the lobby. There is no room service and except for tea and coffee making facilities, rooms do not have a minibar. Nor does the Lodge offer a transfer service so getting there from the airport involves hiring a car or taking a taxi/rideshare costing around $120. There are no alternatives to the restaurant wiithin walking distance so you need to have a car or pay for a taxi or rideshare if looking to eat elsewhere. These issues aside we can highly recommend the Lodge if you're looking for somewhere to switch off and relax. Yes, it's on the rustic side but that just adds to the experience.
