The Ibis styles is a good value hotel for central London in a decent location. Only minutes from Borough Market, London Bridge station and the Southbank including the Tate Modern. Staff are friendly and helpful. The decor is really cool, in an old style Hollywood vibe. The complimentary continental breakfast is a little basic but fine. Rooms were spacious enough, clean and comfy. A 3 star but better than a lot of 4 star hotels out there. Would stay again.

What is going wrong with Le Accor brand - from styles to sofitel I have had nothing but poor service in my last dozen or so trips. Last night I ended up in the Styles prison sorry Southwark hotel with absolutely no amenities. The check in was dreadful as I could not understand the young girl on reception. Being British going into a British hotel this should not be an issue and also resident's details should not be shared on screen, especially if they are the wrong ones. Like myself, I have a very simple name and despite proffering my booking confirmation my details could not be found and the flustered young lady had to go and get the manager to simply book me in. Then we get into the discussion of thank you for your patronage as you are a Platinum member but dont expect any thanks. No points No welcome drink No nothing !!!So what is the point of being a member then. To be honest after a 20 hour day I just wanted to check in then grab some food. I asked the manager what time food was served at and she said 24/7 thru the console next to reception - incidentally reception is actually a piano which reflects the attempt at funky decor but it certainly does not help the reception staff in their tasks. So anyway back to decor the theme is movies I guess but looks as if it has been thrown together with cheap props from Amazon by drunk contestants on the Apprentice who will right receive a scolding from Sir Alan in due course. Certainly not the cleanest and when I was wiping down the surfaces- yes I am that type of person but extensive business travel has taught me the need to do this - the dust was excessive Picture taken. Also as I was leaving given the fact that I was frozen throughout the night very cold room I noticed crumbs under the bed which may have a nail or two as well Picture taken and sorta sums up my stay. There is also a smell in the hotel - initially I thought it was the room but seems to be more prevalent in the corridor - another reason not to come back. Also shower area needs refurbishment and freshened up, looking very tired So back to my actual stay, I wandered downstairs to order some food and found the online console which needless to say does not work. I was presented with a bar code that took me to Amazon with no sign of food. A helpful fellow traveller (young lady from Dublin) told me that this was a local restaurant who supplies the food to the hotel and they waited previous night for 75 minutes with no order received.....As there was the Novotel where I have stayed I asked if I could get food there as my room was fully expenses. I was told I could not more of that later. So a cold miserable wet night I started my trek to find food in probably the desert of cuisine in London - basically a mile radius there is very little to choose from and I ended up going down the Itsu route. which is c1/2 mile from the hotel towards Blackfrairs which seemed longer given the weather. Anyways after I had a cold dinner I realised I would need to work again so I went down to the bar which is on site and looked to undertake the shocking activity of ordering a drink and charging it to my room. I was informed by the prison gaoler sorry manager whom I had interacted with earlier that all purchases had to be cash and if I wanted to charge anything I would need to go to the Novotel where I could also get food charged NOT WHAT SHE SAID EARLIER HENCE MY ITSU DINING EXPERIENCE. Anyways I was pretty beaten by this time thinking I will be working for the next few hours eventually turned in at 0100 I walked over to the Novotel. Needless to say my details had not been provided which resulted in another delay. Incidentally i have stayed at this Novotel and it was fine typical London tourist hotel will post a review idc. Anyways after a chat with the very pleasant bar keep my drinks were eventually authorised and again reiterates just how poor the Ibis hotel is at a. supporting clients and b. maintaining revenue - why was I not informed that I could obtain food at the sister hotel. Thankfully my one day sentence sorry stay is just about over and for breakfast, it is extremely average and at least there was coffee in the carb frenzy of cake sausage roll and frozen bread rolls - again another example of the reasons that tourists feel fleeced. Final comment was that the summer thin duvet - Picture attached - was not great either in Feb 25. In summary, there is nothing to recommend on this hotel and for the avoidance of doubt the debris under the bed was certainly not due to me as my cold Itsu was consumed at the narrow cheap and tacky desk . I will be writing to Le Accor now as the service has reduced to such a level and the cleanliness of this hotel is very questionable.

We stayed here for one night after going to the theatre. It was a clean comfortable although slightly small room (we had a queen bed) and extensive continental breakfast. Location good for Borough Market but a bit out for theatreland as had to get a train to London Bridge Train station from Charing Cross after theatre.

Have stayed here a couple of times. Located close to Borough market and London Bridge station, with short walks to St Paul's as well as Tate Modern (for those who like that kind of stuff). Cool boutique style hotel with friendly staff. Small but clean and perfectly decent rooms, basic breakfast and parking.

Good location, fun rooms and very close to London Bridge tube station and Borough Market if you're looking for somewhere good to eat. Breakfast was basic but did the job. Seemed very busy with tourists so not sure how practical it would have been being there for work long-term but it worked for what we needed. Couldn't work out how to turn the air off in the room, the temperature was fine as there was a thermostat but it was quite loud.
