We paid extra money for early check in at 10AM and we arrived at 11Am and the front desk told us the check in time is 3pm without checking our reservation. We told her we paid extra for early check in and she told us we have to wait cos normally it’s 3pm like duh? We know, that’s why we paid extra. She’s incompetent and does not do her job well. The other staff were gossiping near the lobby. Do not come here!

I loved my stay in Adagio Wien and will return to the same place in my future trips to Wien. Nice and clean hotel. Very helpful guest managers Elif and Arun did their best for me to feel like in a 5 star hotel. I have been to many other Adagio hotels, but I can definetly say that Arun and Elif are the best among the all Adagio hotel crew. Arun accomodated me to a room with wondeful city and river view on 7th floor, during my stay always interested whether I have inconvencies or not, but Elif all the time kept in touch with me and helped with incredible advices to enjoy the best museums and sightseeings of Wien.

Appalling customer service and front of house. Went to check in with my elderly mother to discover, we had mistakenly booked for the night before. The receptionist was rude, absolutely unsympathetic, and offered a new room for more than the price I’d paid. No drinks were offered to guests and it was a horrible stuffy atmosphere in a really bad location. We had to make a very fast rebooking elsewhere and took the cheap and cheerful Babula Hotel which actually was fine. Really disgusted with the customer service here typical chain hotel with no empathy for the guest at all. As I was with my 78 year old mother some kindness would have been appreciated.

I spent a week here for business. Friendly service! Reception personnel helped with my questions and offered to give access to meeting areas to work for a while in quiet after I had checked out. Breakfast was tasty and personnel helpful. The room was big, but just slightly outdated, and importantly bed was good to sleep in!

We planned to stay one night (Saturday 15th September), but timed our arrival to land during the worst storm in 30 years. Our plan was to head to Hallstatt on the 16th, and on to Salzburg on the 17th, but none of this happened as the railway running west fron Vienna was closed throughout this period due to flooding. We stayed in a standard room overlooking the inner courtyard, so no view except for a blank wall on the otherside of the court yard. The room was very comfortable. The kitchen area had some very basic cooking equipment which we didn't use as we went out for dinner. There is a small supermarket (Billa) a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. There is a larger InterSpar (or something like that) at Vienna Mitte station (where the City Airport Train goes to), which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Transport is good - there is a stop for route 1 just outside the hotel to the right (it will take you anti-clockwise around the north and west edge of the central zone). There is also a stop for route 2 outside the front door to the left, which will take you clockwise around the east and south side of the central area. You can also change from route 1 to route 2 (and vice versa) at the Parliament stop in the south-west corner of the central area to give you a ride around the edge of the city and back to the hotel. Google 'Bigboy travel Vienna tram tour' and you'll find a map which tells you what you can see. The Underground has stops at Schwedenplatz and Stubentor (lines U1 and U3 respectively), each about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. As our travel plans were disrupted, we ended up staying Sunday night as well, this time in a room with a city view - thanks to the very helpful member of staff on reception on Sunday afternoon. We did enquire about staying Monday night as well, but the price went up considerably and we found a cheaper apartment across the city which was also very good. We made good use of the luggage store room before and after each stay - saves lugging bags around the city. We would definitely stay here again, provided the price is right!
