We stayed there for 6 nights in May. The biggest plus point was their staff. Everyone was so professional and went above and beyond to ensure are experience was positive. This location is about 15 minutes' walk from all the Touristy sites. However about 5 minutes' walk is the Underground Train. This location is a perfect mix of quiet stay and easy accessibility. It is also right across the branch of the River Danube. Once you cross that bridge is where you have all the bars and places to eat. There is also a grocery store just a block away! Breakfast was perfect and the lady who manages the breakfast was amazing! The spread was plentiful and fresh. One early morning we had a tour that began at 6.30 am and we requested to use the coffee machine. She not only got us coffee, but she also gave us to-go cups for our second cup! Like all European Hotel Rooms, the rooms were small. However, that is not a deal breaker. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We booked the privilege room and included the robes and slippers with a queen-size bed. The room also had a coffee machine, but we did not use that. The mini bar was included in our stay because of the type of room we booked. The bathroom was a decent size and had all the amenities. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Vienna !

Quite a convenient 15 minute walk to Stephansplatz, 10 minutes to Schwedenplatz and Schottenring U-Bahn stations, so good for transport and easy access to restaurants and bars. The hotel is smart, clean and comfortable, desk staff are mostly helpful but I think they deal more with business visitors than tourist style people. Our rooms were small, functional, could do with a mirror near the desk for make up but again, might be because they get more business men. The bathroom looked good but was poorly designed, the loo was a a very strange angle, the door was difficult to side, the shower flooded the room and the tissue box fell off the wall if you even looked at it! The sink didn’t drain properly and we couldn’t get the plug up once it was down. We didn’t have breakfast as we were told it was €25 each, Anker over the water cost €25 for all of us to have breakfast and was lovely. So, good hotel, reasonably priced (if you don’t have breakfast), good location, a bit noisy, all in all good.

Very impressed with this hotel. Clean comfortable and good location. Positioned on Leopold start its just a quick 5 minute walk to Swedenplatz and then onto the main tourist area. Our room was good, bed very comfy and all very clean and serviced daily. Shower room was also good. The staff were amazing very helpful, patient and jolly. Breakfast was good plenty of choice. There's no bar or restaurant but you are surrounded by them once you step out the door. We found 2 good breakfast places close by as we only had the hotel breakfast for one morning as it was a bit expensive. The trams run from over the bridge and are very good,cheap and regular.

Modern, clean, well located! It lacks the charm of our hotel in Prague! Cramped room! Poor internet! did not work with my iPad! Worked in Prague, Tokyo, Lisbon, etc. Only 2 English channels on TV. The sink did not drain well. Wouldn’t come back.

My recent stay at Hotel Mercure Wien City was utterly disappointing, leaving me with a sour taste and a reluctance to ever return to any Mercure property. Here's a breakdown of the multitude of issues that plagued our short three-night break: 1. Our arrival was met with shock and dismay as we entered our assigned bedroom. To our horror, the bed was strewn with hairs, the side tables were tacky with drink residue, and worst of all, there were unmistakable traces of feces and urine on the toilet seat. It was abundantly clear that the room had not been subjected to even a semblance of cleaning prior to our check-in. 2. Upon voicing our concerns, we were begrudgingly moved to another room, only to find that while the toilet appeared to be cleaned the bed remained littered with hairs. Despite our protests, we were informed that no housekeeping services were available in the evening, and no alternative accommodations were forthcoming. 3. The situation deteriorated further when we were shown a third room, which regrettably mirrored the unsatisfactory conditions of its predecessors. Eventually the reception staff themselves changed the bedding. To add insult to injury, the only compensation offered for the inconvenience was a paltry €5 drink voucher, a woefully inadequate gesture given the severity of the issue. Furthermore, our request for a slightly extended check-out time was summarily denied, with the staff insisting on an additional charge for even a mere hour's reprieve. 4. As if to compound our disappointment, the breakfast provided each morning was a lackluster affair, with offerings that fell far short of expectations in both quantity and quality. In sum, the abysmal lack of cleanliness have left an indelible mark on our experience. It pains me to say that I cannot in good conscience recommend Hotel Mercure Wien City to anyone, as our stay was marred by a litany of failures that no guest should ever have to endure.
