The hotel is suitably located in close proximity to SIPCOT IT Park, and hiranandani upscale apartment complex. The service was good and hospitable. However I have to say that I was extremely disappointed by room quality (for the category of this hotel) - extremely small size, and the bathrooms even smaller closer to airplane bathroom style. No point for couples (and/or family) to visit. One is better off if visiting alone.

Need to clean the rooms and bathrooms better. Found them to be unclean on check in. Bed was too soft and sagging. Room was small. and basic. Once checked in there was very little attention to what was needed.

This hotel has always been my favorite. Everytime gets very pleasant experience and comforting stay here. Staff is very friendly. James at front desk is very profressinal and courteous. Overall stay, food all are really nice.

extremely satisfied with stay at IBIS Chennai Sipcot. rooms are comfortable and affordable. breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet has got very good options to choose and tastiful. overall a very nice and comforting stay

Good place to stay

We stayed only for one night for a business trip. The staff was friendly and responsive to any, all requests. Good location and value for money. Room had only one power outlet and had to ask for a power strip. Not sure why a hotel room would have single power outlet. I have my cell phone, iPAD, Laptop and cannot plug them all into a single outlet. I need to travel with a power strip. Also, the shampoo bottle is locked in a corner. of the shower. Had to call front office to figure out where the f.... shampoo was during middle of shower. The other issue that I had was with elevator as it required access card to go to the floor where your room is, The receptionist did not inform that we had to use the access card to use the elevator/ Access cards stopped working after specific time. Breakfast is food and had a good buffet lunch with good variety to satisgy All in all...Good value for money!

Was Expecting Bigger Rooms at the Price Point

I was not aware that IBIS is an economy brand for Novotel and at Rs. 4500 per night, I was expecting a larger room and bathroom. I stayed in Mumbai, Bangalore for Rs 3500 in 3 star hotels and hence with that standards, this does not meet my expectations. Room was clean and bathroom was clean but really tight. Water pressure in the shower was really poor and It took me 5 minutes to wet my entire body. I do not think, I will recommend this for folks who are looking at this price point, With another Rs. 1000 or Rs. 2000 you could get a better stay and better experience

We loved the service.Very helpfull.Nice and net accomidation. When we asked for a cup of tea,it was very nice of the person on the phone who suggested that we have tea bags and that break fast tea along.

Good value and quiet

I have stayed in the Ibis Sipcot hotel on 8 or 9 occasions in the past 5 months. PROS; -- Quiet rooms with comfortable beds and pleasant views -- Reliable and fast, free WiFi -- Reasonable rates during low occupancy periods CONS; -- Lack of consistent management and lack of coherent policies. As is often the case in India, in the absence of a clear managerial figure at reception, lower ranked receptionists 'take command' and exercise authority that is usually detrimental to hotel's guests and its future prospects. I am an Accor Le club Platinum member. I don't expect trumpets, elephants, red carpets and rose petals (though an Indian possibly would) but I do find that the approach often lacks recognition of my loyalty status. The 'welcome drink' is limited to a Tropicana juice in a carton. Not only did I usually have to remind the receptionists I am entitled to the drink, I have also been limited to only one drink even when I was in the company of two or four others who were staying in rooms booked by myself 'BECAUSE ONLY YOU ARE PLATINUM AND THEY ARE NOT'. In addition, I was offered a very reasonable 50% off the rate for the extra night when checking in at 4:00 am and 1:30am, other times when I checked at 23:00 and 1:15am I was denied this rate and made to pay the full rate. The rates at the hotel are reasonable, so this wasn't going to 'break the bank' but it seems the lack of consistency in policies may stem from poor training on Platinum membership perks, i.e: during some stays (i.e: on the 1st December 2015) I was afforded a 7pm check out though I only asked for 5pm while during most other stays I received persistent calls reminding me that 'our standard check out time is 12:00'. This would repeat in the reception area like a broken record and I had to remind receptionist on more than one occasion that I had already notified check in staff that I will check out at 3pm or 5pm and was pre approved... -- Breakfast; the music is almost always too loud and annoying (department store New Year's music in December, hard rock and metallic music otherwise (!). Food is miss and go. If you crave a good dosa or poori there is a better chance of finding one in a Chennai roadside shack. When the dosas and chapatis were of such poor quality that they were inedible, I complained and did get an apology from the chef and the manager. Standards of food did improve slightly but were just OK and never spectacular.

I stayed for 5 days and mostly it was great. Very clean rooms. Excellent staffs in the hotel. Very professional and helpful. A few points to note though : 1. Need more veggie items in a la carte. Very few options to chose from 2. A few restaurant staffs need to be more careful. It will be good to use perfumes or deodorant 3. Mosquito was problem. May be some cleaning is needed 4. Rooms was smaller that I expected 5. Keeping a few King size bed should be nice. You guys allow 1 child in a room but it actually does not work. Also, the size of the room does not support to add one extra cot for a child. Either you should not allow more than 2 people or keep a king size bed Giving 4 stars (by overlooking restaurant feedback) as the front desk was extremely helpful and cordial. Thanks

Room is very small. Toilet and bath room is modular type not convenient to use. Since there is no other option people might stay here. Food is not much impressive but still priced very high. The only advantage is centrally located.
