Good Budget choice

This is a budget hotel which does what it says on the tin. We have stayed here many times. Yes some of the comments about size and no carpets and shower cubicles are correct but you get what you pay for. Ive never found the area to have a problem and the staff without exception have always been excellent over many years . We have had a couple of small issues which were immediately rectified.. If you return late at night the carpark can be full but there is an overflow. There are food options very close (restaurant and takeaways). As soon as I know event dates for next years speedway I will be booking again.

Yes rooms a lil basic but it’s got “budget” in the title. The hotel didn’t choose for people to stay during busy season so these moaners need to chill. Very happy with service lovely hoteliers especially on the eve of 9th and afternoon of the 10th.

2 night stay for Billy Joel concert

This is a budget hotel but was ok for our needs. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was good and the bed comfortable. The shower/toilet set up was a bit unusual but all functioned ok. In hindsight we would have probably preferred to stay closer to Cardiff and pay more as it took a long time to get back after the concert

The one star is for the lovely receptionist who checked us in and stored our bags while we went into Cardiff for the Billy Joel concert. Unfortunately she was the only redeeming factor about the place. As other reviewers have said I can confirm the ‘bad part of town’ vibe. Having paid £129 which was clearly an inflated price, what an absolute rip off. The hotel is tired and run down, the rooms are tiny with limited charging facilities and the toilet, bathroom and sink are all located in separate parts of the room. The bathroom is really just a shower cubicle in the room. I’ve stayed in bigger inside cabins on cruise ships. The hotel is so ‘budget’ that there isn’t even carpet in the bedrooms, just horrible lino flooring. Just strange, felt quite uneasy staying here and absolutely won’t be returning.

We wanted a stop over on our way from London to Fishguard and somewhere close to the M4. This place ticked that box. That was it. The outside was filthy dirty and has a grim exterior, okay its right next to the motorway. I was travelling with my 2 young children, a packed car and a roof box. We pulled up in the car park and it was clear that this place didn't warrant a "hotel" status. There were several unsavoury people hanging around outside. It had a "bad part of town" feeling. I was contemplating checking out the room as we were only technically staying there a few hours, we just needed to sleep, plus it was paid for and non refundable. When my daughter said "mummy I don't think its safe here" it confirmed my thoughts. I got on my phone and booked a Premiere Inn 30 minutes up the M4 which was perfect. It felt safe, we were given a friendly welcome and everything was spotless. I should of done this in the first place. I appreciate it is a Budget Hotel but its not good. If you're travelling with children I don't recommend it. I've since learned there are plenty other places to stay that are more suitable. I wish I had read more reviews before booking, they confirm what I thought its not a safe place to stay especially with children.
