ibis budget Lugano Paradiso 1 star

It was a good experience. Super clean. Very practical with a little baby. Just a few small issues : not much space to put our things. Very small space!

Nice things about the hotel are the kind staff, pretty design and a good location. Check in and out is quite uncomplicated and convenient. The tight design of the room furniture is also quite fine and practical. The mattress was not top quality, but the linen was nice and we had a good sleep. Unfortunately we were missing so many details which made our one-night stay uncomfortable. The smell in the room and the hallways was very odd and bad. We did not have a hanger to put our showering towels to dry so we put them wet on the bed. There was only one towel for the hands. There was no towel for the floor after showering, so we had to step on the cold floor, which was also wet due to water leaking from the shower. In the shower, the sink was broken and moving around. Sometimes we would suddenly get very hot water or very cold water coming - cold is just an inconvenience but hot water hurt a lot! The toilet door is imperfectly closing so we could hear all the sounds. The light switches above one side of the bed were not working. There are no electricity sockets around the bed. There is one next to the sink and one below the tv which has multiple thin sockets - while today's power adapters cannot fit next to each other in these thin sockets, which results in this being only a 'single' socket. The breakfast was very nice and cheap for Lugano, we liked it. Except for the eggs which we had to boil ourselves. Even if it works properly, there is still a problem of them being too hot to open up! Also, there was not enough water and the eggs did not boil for us properly. How hard would it be to boil eggs for customers before breakfast? All in all, Ibis Budget can be vastly improved with things like having one or two more towels, a better ventilation, cooked eggs for breakfast.. Lugano is expensive, but also the price of this hotel is at least twice too expensive for what it is worth. I will for sure not recommend it to anyone.

I am quite frequently at this hotel complex and like it a lot. During peak seasons quite pricy though compared to other countries / abroad / Accor Hotels

The hotel is well located and perfect for a short stay, offering all the basics for a comfortable sleepover and connection to main attractions in Lugano. Near the lake, walking along it to Lugano’s city centre is easy and pleasent.
