We visited as a group of 4 friends from December 30th-Jan 2nd as part of a Middletons Tour and can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in the UK. The staff and manager were the most helpful and kind I have ever come across and made our stay extra special. When we arrived the manager greeted us personally with drinks and snacks. Our luggage was taken to our room and our room was lovely. We had a free mini bar and gifts left in the room. The food served in the evenings were phenomenal and the chef served me a specific platter of food as I cannot eat cheese. The New Years Eve Gala was wonderful. Food fabulous and staff so lovely On New Year’s Day, staff visited every room with a new years greeting, gift and handwritten card from the manager! When we departed all the staff came out in the freezing cold to wave us off! Special mention goes out to the manager and to Carol! I had such fun and so many laughs with Carol. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to family and friends and would return in a heartbeat!

Went over New Year and without fail the hotel and all the staff were amazing ,all set by the general manager .He did everything that he had asked his staff to do .Nothing was too much trouble and food /service was excemptional for the around 100 people being served at the same time .!!Thoroughly recommend !

Rooms were good, clean and very comfortable. The Hotel was clean throughout but just a little chilly at times. The room staff looked after the rooms well and kept us well stocked with tea and coffee Restaurant staff were very polite and went out of their way to help. The only downside was no evening entertainment after our evening meals. We had music and singers whilst we were eating. Music stopped about nine. Overall it was a lovely place to stay

Christmas party night

Attended a works Christmas party night,it was just amazing,staff were very helpful and polite,the running of everything just went smoothly,the dj was absolutely fantastic,got everyone involved and played some fantastic tunes ,he is a gem ,the best ,thank you for an absolutely brilliant night .

Poor management

Please rethink if you are attending a Christmas party night at this hotel. I attended last night with 9 other people, for the Christmas party night and was shocked by the language used by the DJ, yes may have been banter, as this was the response of the manager, but it left an unpleasant feeling to us and others, who in actual fact after the food had been served. There was ond table, in particular, full of drunk, young people, clearly using drugs. One man in particular was allowed to carry on jumping around, twirling and kicking out his legs, clearly on drugs, even kicking my leg, making me tell his surrounding friends that he had just hurt me! Nobody was interested and this behaviour just carried on. A fellow dancer on the very tiny, overcrowded, dancefloor complained about the same man, to the DJ due to his extremely strange behaviour, whilst dancing erratically in front of a blank wall! This man should have been thrown out on the spot, but no he was allowed to just carry on with his drug fuelled behaviour. Then to top the night, my brand new fur jacket was stolen from the coat rail. Again the management did not want to know, they were not interested at all. There is a piece of paper attached to the rail advising your own risk etc. Unfortunately this was not visible to me at the time due to the amount of coats hanging up already. So DO NOT LEAVE YOUR COATS ON THE SAID COAT RAIL. IF YOU DO YOU RUN THE RISK OF LOSING IT like i did Such a beautiful hotel and yet very poor management Literally did not want to accept any responsibility or offer an apology whatsoever We will not be returning to this establishment I just advise people to think very carefully before making any kind of reservation
