We're located in Salisbury's historic centre, just opposite the cathedral. Top Service and Great Location

After many years in commuting from Amesbury the Cricket Club decided a more central location for its base on the Spring Tour. Ideally located for local landmarks and amenities, the hotel boasts a nice bar and lounge area, a beautiful garden area, and a decent restaurant. Bar is open to residents after hours - a must for any Cricket Tour 😉 and the breakfast choice is extensive and plentiful. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, and helpful, especially Maddie who went above and beyond on more than one occasion, and Russ who handled the reservation and numerous amends. We will definitely be returning next year!

LOVELY STAFF - SHOWER NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

We’ve just returned from a long weekend at the Mercure White Hart. I really wanted to love this hotel, it looks great from the outside but I’m afraid I would have to give it a mixed review. Starting with the Positives: 1. The main asset of the hotel is their staff. Everyone we met was very friendly, professional and helpful. 2. The room was modern, fresh and clean. 3. Breakfast was decent. It was great to have gluten free cereals readily available. A shame there was no allergen information displayed on the hot food options. I know I could have asked but they were very busy and I didn’t want to be a nuisance. But my husband enjoyed his cooked breakfast and particularly complimented the locally sourced sausages. 4.The car park was a bonus. Good not to have to worry about parking. The negatives: 1. Our main issue was the shower which is not fit for purpose. It has two shower heads, one an overhead deluge head and one half height shower head. The controls on the unit were extremely faded and we found it difficult to select which head you wanted the water to come out of. It seemed to do its own thing. It would start to dribble from one for a second then stop completely then dribble from the other. It was only ever a trickle, the water pressure was virtually non existent. Which was clearly a shower issue as the pressure from the basin taps was fine. More worrying was the temperature, which was extremely hot and whatever I did with the temperature control, it didn’t vary. 2. Early evening on our third night as we were getting ready to go out to eat we noticed we could hear a dog barking and assumed it was outside. Sadly, we were wrong. It was obviously in one of the rooms nearby as we discovered when we were woken by it barking/yapping at 3.00am and again just after 4.00. Then voices and doors opening & closing, which we assumed to be the owners. I can’t believe the dog owners or the hotel thought this was acceptable. I certainly don’t expect to be woken up by barking dogs in a 4 star hotel. 3. The bed was good but we could really have done with more than one pillow each. We had to put the cushions under the pillows to get some support.

An excellent Re-union Dinner - a great venue

A week ago today 12 old comrades held a reunion dinner at The White Hart Hotel. A special thanks to Sarah (their Conference and Banqueting Manager) who expertly organized and set up our re-union dinner. We had a great time – swapped more stories than you could shake a big stick at and probably consumed too much good cheer! What it made it so successful was our welcome at The White Hart – the Team looked after us very well – the Service was excellent and the menu choice and the food was delicious and perfectly served – the décor and table decorations in the St Anne’s Suite were top rate. Joseph and Maddie really looked after us well – front of house is so important - they were a credit to The White Hart. In short we had a great reunion and that was down, in no small part, to The White Hart – a heartfelt thank you to you all.
