Such a welcome for sure. Catherine Natasha and Maeve on reception such caring and endearing welcomes. To Colin the father of the hotel and Veronica in the restaurant and bar. Such a special hotel. Home from home. Thank you all from housekeeping to those not mentioned.

Our second stay at this hotel. Once again I couldn't fault it. Clean, comfortable room. The staff were lovely, going above and beyond to assist us. The hotel is perfectly located to access the train station, cruise port, and West Quay shopping and restaurant complex.

Stayed at Novotel- Southampton for the night. Was checked in by Joyce who was very thorough, kind and helpful for our family. Cant thank her enough for going above and beyond. Room was very spacious and clean. Would recommend highly

Worst Xmas Party & Meal

Xmas Party worst food ever! Starter warm Camembert on a cold plate with stale bread. Tasted awful. Beef as the main which I could even eat as it was so tough in the horrendous sauce. The roast portages and parsnip if you could even call them that looked anaemic. I opted for cheese and crackers for desert which I thought you couldn’t go wrong. I think even a child could have presented it better. Dried apricots, sultanas, 2 chopped pieces of celery , 3 crackers and some cheese. One of the party had cheese cake which I tried and most probably the best out of all of it. This was £50 head, thankfully the company paid and we only had to pay 5% which was still too much. The DJ was awful it was like a school disco. Even when I asked for a change of music he had no idea. The lobby bar was cheaper than the function room, wine £29 bottle, function room £32. The room was stripped of all decorations off tables by 22.30 felt they wanted us out.

Stayed overnight for a business trip. Reception looked lovely… Oh how I was deceived ! I stayed in R 412. Carpet on corridors stained The room initially looked ok .. but stained carpet AGAIN . Separate toilet , first door on right ….. weird and old fashioned looking . Twin room , beds looked okay but in reality uncomfortable mattress , poor quality bedding with no quilt only a thin blanket . My back was killing me in the morning and I didn’t sleep well at all . Cans of water … strange . Paper cups no glasses to be seen . Cheap coffee . Plug socket didn’t work . Hairdryer very scruffy and didn’t work very well . Thank goodness I took my straighteners and didn’t wash my hair . …. The TV was tiny , old fashioned and just a few channels … I didn’t come to watch TV but goodness me !!! what can I say that’s positive… THE STAFF WERE GREAT , Bar staff lovely . Receptionist at check in and checkout great . I did mention to her about the room .
