The hotel has a great location Close to train station and the city centre The rooms are very spacious compared to other hotels I have stayed in within the same chain Rooms also very quiet and bright The staff at reception are really helpful and cheerfull Could not ask for anything better!

The location is excellent. That’s the only good point. The rooms are small, cramped, poorly noise insulted, too hot, and not especially clean. We were here for the Brighton marathon, and were on the tenth floor. For once, I thought I’d struck gold - no traffic noise!! Unfortunately, this was to be a hellish stay. The “curtains” consist of three interlocking pieces of fabric, which, surprisingly, don’t interlock, letting bright sunshine in from approx 4am onwards. If that isn’t enough, the windows don’t close properly, meaning you have seagull noise from 5am onwards, even through your earplugs - the windows don’t close properly, and there’s a lovely big shelf outside for the seagulls to perch on. We requested to be moved, but were told that all the rooms are the same, and there aren’t any spares anyway, didn’t you know it’s the Brighton marathon? I ran the marathon on two hours of sleep. I paid almost £500 for this room. Worth it? You decide.

Great stay

The service was good, everything clean and tidy. As gold member they left a couple of cookies and some truffles. Which was very nice of them. Quick lift and cosy room, great shower. I was a little bit surprised that the hotel wanted some photographic id before i could check in. This isn’t normal for a UK person in a UK hotel. So remember to bring some.

Very disappointing, so never again

Good points: Good location for our needs Friendly reception staff Bad points: Overcharged by £71.10 charged to our account by an Ibis Birmingham Budget Hotel, 1 Great Colmore Street, BUT we were staying in Brighton. Therefore we are now having to spend time sorting this out Inside of the bathroom door was filthy. As the bathroom houses the toilet this is an obvious E.coli risk A general lack of attention to detail: Coffee beans for machine not replenished during breakfast Butter not replenished during breakfast No towels provided one day No spoons on tea tray one day Didn’t expect the world as it is a budget hotel, but nevertheless very disappointed as this was a break in Brighton to celebrate my birthday

Fine as a base in Brighton

Myself and my husband used this hotel as a base when he ran the marathon. Good bits Very clean Nice/bar restaurant area Good selection at breakfast inc gluten free and dairy free coffee machine Confirtable bed, only one pillow each asked for more, no problem No sockets near bed, asked for extension lead, given Few minutes from station Surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops, tesco and Sainsburys local Shampoo, towels etc Friendly, helpful staff Can whattsapp reception/order food Good wine Bad bits Room 407 had constant whistling and a noise like an ice machine every so often, enough to wake me No room service No fridge
