Very disappointing

I booked two twin rooms and one parking space for one night. The greeting on arrival was friendly and efficient. That evening we had dinner in the hotel's French Restaurant, which was excellent - both food and the very friendly service. £287.44 for four of us. Sadly, the same could not be said about the rooms which face into the hotel's enclosed reception area. They were gloomy and badly lit, with only two shaded lights which were both on one side of the room and failed to illuminate the whole room. No table or dressing table, and no mirror. The plug in our washbasin didn't work, nor did the television (Reception told me they have a problem with their system). Breakfast next morning was in the same French restaurant but was terrible. There was a unit that should have dispensed warm plates, but it wasn't working and the plates were cold. Similarly, at the buffet the heating under the various dishes didn't seem to be working, so I had cold bacon that had also been overcooked and was so hard you could snap it, and cold fried eggs. I tried a croissant, but it was stodgy, maybe stale, and far away from what a croissant should be. This breakfast cost £22.27. Breakfast at a nearby budget hotel is about half that price and much better.

just an overnight stay for an early morning flight. The highlight was dinner in Le Petit Reveur where the food was excellent and our server Yogi exceptional assisting with allergy choices as well as being engaging. Location perfect for getting to either terminal effortlessly.

Arrived on the 25th at the Sofitel and ordered room service for our late check-in. Alexander explained how the App worked and how to order, the food was received in good time and was hot. Great room service from Alexander who we came across on a previous visit to the Sofitel and was very professional and welcoming on that visit aswell.

Comfortable, cosy Beds. Clean with great view of the runway. We were lucky to be on the 6th floor. Nice quiet, airy room. Air con was good. The coffee machine was a nice touch. We ate in the bar lunch time and evening. Fish n chips were adequate but can’t say the same for the cheese n “pickle” sandwich. Dry cheap bread and non existent “pickle”. Inconsistent servers. Some people got served soon after sitting, but we had to go over to someone which makes you feel a bit invisible. Nice hotel and convenient if need to stay over. We didn’t realise that you had to pay for dropping off your luggage. We checked in, dropped bags off total: 11 minutes had to pay £13. Will have to reconsider where we stay next year which is a shame as works out an expensive start to your holiday! We spent £300 in total on drinks, food & stay.

Great stop over for young families.

Clean rooms with decent size, great service both from front of house staff and in the restaurants (Safwan was helpful when we had two over tired kids). This was a last minute booking after a cancelled flight so the rest up was much needed. Quick transfer to South Terminal.
