Not enough staff on reception Lifts very slow had to wait 10 minutes to get down from room Rooms very bland. Beige, black,grey. Functional. USB ports by bed No central light so room is dark even with bedside lights and lamp on. Nowhere suitable for putting a suitcase Very hot duvet on bed so had to have a/c on all night so woke up with a cold! Pillows so soft that annoyingly they strap around your face. Good hotels provide one soft and one firmer for each person. Bed was comfortable. Sound insulation good. Didn’t hear anything from the other rooms. Access directly into terminal building which is great. Not overly clean.not bad but obviously rushed. Great shower Restaurants are not great.. Went to one and they sent me to another with same menu to the one that was full. All restaurants must have the same kitchen. Food average at best and overpriced. Importantly, I didn’t receive the wake up call I booked I’d describe this hotel as ok for a night but anything more and it would feel claustrophobic as it’s so dark and dreary

I LOVE my morning coffee, but most places make coffee very weakly and I understand that that is how most like their coffee. Christian who is on duty in the dining room this morning, 1 July at the Sofitel Gatwick hotel. He offered to get me a coffee so I accepted his offer but thought I’d be specific in asking for one of my favourite morning coffees. You see, I hate weak coffee and I mentioned this to him. Now my usual experience is that people imply that they can get me a strong coffee and yet it is unusual if the coffee is how I like it. Christian delivered exactly what I wanted. It took him quite some time but when it arrived I was delighted!!! Thanks Christian.

If you are staying at this hotel the upgrade to the milestone suite is essential! Having access to the lounge is a no brianer, unlimited alcohol, sweet treats and amazing service! Alexandra was so attentive, welcomed us with a smile and ensured that we had everything we needed, she kept my wife and I topped up ;) a great start to out holiday! Thank you Alexandra!

Lovely room on 8th floor. Enjoyed the food and drinks in the Club Lounge. Alexandra looked after my wife and I beautifully. Very attentive and personable. What a gem. Loved the view overlooking the runway. Constantly entertaining. Looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed for one night in a family suite so had access to Club Millesime. I must give a special mention to our host in Club Millesime called Alexandra, she is wonderful at her job and really looked after us 😊 The room was spacious and comfortable and made our night pre flight relaxing and enjoyable.
