Very average with poor dining

Stated because of location… however I would have stayed further away and driving. Small room. Noisy Ac. Poor restaurant shared with Mercure that was hosting a large group so hotel guests got relocated to a nearby “banquet space”. Ok food. Poor dessert 9.90 euros for a terrible Cafe Gourmand… took forever to get the dessert and it was still cold out of the fridge. Weak espresso. Friendly waitress. Not her fault. For 80 euros per person it is not worth it. Hotel food. Last year was better in the restaurant. Very small parking spaces.

Ibis rooms were ok but with small towels which is annoying. Simple but clean - window narrow with poor view of back of hotel & other rooms (but this is por luck!). Good location but off very busy road.However it shares the Mercure’s reception, bar and restaurant; staff were helpful and food in restaurant was really good. Busy and atmospheric for dinner.

Stayed here a couple of times as a stop off when travelling south. It's in a really good location regarding that it's easy to drive to and very close to the river, if you like a walk. A relatively short walk from the town centre and Cathedral. Parking is interesting, lots of quite tight underground garages. The positive is that it's secure and on site with lifts and stairs up to reception. Really happy to be honest. Everything was clean and tidy. Breakfasts are really good value and quality with plenty of choice. Evening meals were very good quality too. On one occasion, we got the meal deal/formula. This was good value and you weren't too limited on the menu. An option to bare in mind. The restaurant is very pleasant and immaculate. Big shout out to the blond lady on reception, so sorry that I missed your name. Also to Yassine, (I couldn't believe that he recognises customers from months ago), so friendly and helpful. He helped me with my very poor French and then gave us a tourist map and took the time to 'highlight' walks and places of interest. When I struggled in French, he'd change to English. Well, you have to try, don't you? The bar and restaurant staff were 1st class too. The only negatives were that on two consecutive nights, when paying our bill, there was a mix-up, and we got the wrong bills at a very busy period. One was 70€ and the other 56€ too much. Fortunately, we immediately spotted them. They were promptly corrected and it didn't spoil our experience. Over all, a very pleasant stay and experience due to first class staff. Will definitely stay again.

An interesting and at first a confusing set up. The building comprises two hotels, the Mercure and the Ibis, which are part of the same hotel group, but with different pricing structures & classifications. If you are driving, you need to keep a keen watch out for the hotel entrance, because if you miss it (easily done) you have a go around a circuit to get back to where you want to be. The hotel is in a good position being about 15 minutes easy walk to the city centre. Most of the facilities in the hotel, such as the restaurant, reception and bar fall under the Mercure banner and as such, you pay a premium for their services. Our room (part of the Ibis section) was quite a good size, but very basic; bare minimum facilities. Service at the hotel was mixed. The reception staff we found very friendly and helpful. but the bar persons were not so friendly. The restaurant (Mercure hotel banner) was quite good, but the buffet breakfast (also under the Mercure banner) was average. Undercover parking is available at the hotel for a fee.
