Extremely dirty and expensive

I stayed in this hotel for one night on 10th of April. My company had booked the room. The room was very expensive at 253 Euros for one night + 23 Euros tourist tax. For this price I expect a CLEAN ROOM as a minimum. The room 504 floor was unbelievably dirty, same as the nasty wall with and stains on the curtains. Even the paper sign to save water in the bathroom was torn.Also there was stench of Marijuana in the room as if there was a party in there that was not properly cleaned and ventilated afterwards. Not even a complimentary bottle of water or chocolate for 253 Euro +'23 Euri tourist tax? Come on.... This day (weekend) the hotel WIFI was not working during my stay so no work could be done neither. Other than this, there was noise coming from a building ( club?) nearby where it seemed they had drummers lessons) For this price you would expect 4 stars at least and not third world standards and dirt that I have not seen even in Bangladesh with alll due respect. My Company paid for this room, but I will advise the NEVER again.

Not central but worth staying in

Location wise this is not what you would call central but the standard of the hotel is pretty good. Its not 5 star but clean and modern. The breakfast is pretty standard but again nice enough. Transport wise it is easy to get from Centraal to this hotel in approx 15 mins so ideal really

Overall a reasonable hotel which was clean, modern and easy to check in. Breakfast was average at best and often the staff didn’t keep up with stocking everything so frequently there were delays and it wasn’t super hot. What was there was of a reasonable standard. The location for us was good being half way between the windmills in the north and the town centre. We cycled and walked but those less able would need to use transport as it’s a brisk one hour walk to the centre of Amsterdam. The staff at the bar were really friendly, the breakfast staff looked a bit stressed so less friendly.

In our Europe Tour, we rank this one number 2 of the 4 Ibis hotels we did. Hotel staff was nice, but it seems they are not used to see tourists, as they barely had answers to our questions (questions were asked during off-peak time about general stuffs like public transport near hotel). Room itself was ok. The famous bus which drives you to city centre is there about every 20mins, and while the bus stop is in front of hotel, you need to walk about 6-min to walk around the motorway to reach the bus stop - not convenient during freezing days. The metro is also 5-min walk away, but it does not go directly to the city centre, so forget it. The lobby is very small, so you just go to sleep there. There is absolutely nothing around the hotel, except for a burger king. It was the most expensive Ibis i paid per night during my European Tour.
