The rooms were too small but that’s the norm in any European city I presume . But the house keeping service and the attitude of the manager in the reception was awful . Inspite of our repeated reminders the rooms were not cleaned properly and even for a 5 day stay the linens were not changed inspite of our requesting multiple times.

Our housekeeping team typically refreshes rooms daily and changes linens every third day unless requested otherwise, but we regret this didn't occur as expected during your stay. Just returned from 4 nights at the Swissotel Amsterdam. From the moment we checked in the staff were fantastic. Amy and her colleague on reception were so helpful. Then Eduardo the duty manager was so lovely, so funny and did everything to help you. We did see others too that were amazing in what they did for us Wencke, Steven and Diego. The room we stayed in 417 was a Junior suite with a balcony, this was on the corner of the building and overlooked Dam square. The room had a large King bed, 2 chairs, a desk and minibar. As you entered the room there was a coat rack, and a private bathroom with both a shower and bath. Then you went down a few steps into the main room described as above and ample storage. There was a safe and minibar, along with 2 medium dressing gowns and slippers if needed. Housekeeping were great too at looking after the room and turndown service with a mint left on the pillows. The hotel is only about an 8 minute walk across from Amsterdam Central Station. There are plenty of restaurants around. And as implied its very central. Highly recommended!

The location and the excellent & friendly service were exceptional. Mark Neils and the rest of the staff were wonderful from great recommendations for restaurants to directions, etc. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping was also very good, as well. And location can’t be beat! Right on Dam square and within walking distance to most attractions. Would book with this hotel again without hesitation.

I spent 3 nights with my family in 2 seperate rooms. We were happy to be greeted by a Turkish receptionist who was very kind an upgraded one of our rooms. The hotel is right next to Dam Square. Breakfast was adequate. Though some hotels don’t charge children to a certain age, we had to pay half price for each child. The room was standard, a bit dull, overlooking the inner alley. For some reason one of our rooms had carpet flooring and the other did not. Heater in the bathroom didn’t work and I messaged through the hotel application about the problem but nothing was done. Central heating of the room was very loud and not so effective. Housekeeping only tidied up the bed and changed towels. They didn’t see my refill request note of toiletries which I had left a clear and visible note. This shows that the bathtub was not even cleaned and it was clearly visible that the floor was not cleaned either. Even making a request for toiletries at the reception didn’t solve this minor problem. Such small mistakes damage the brand image and this hotel is nothing like the 7 Swissotels in Turkey. Besides its perfect location, nothing was special.

Well located hotel

We spent two nights at Swissotel in Amsterdam. The hotel is very well located near the train station and restaurants and shopping. We were able to walk to the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank Museum. The room was adequate size for Amsterdam. The bathroom was nice with a big bathtub. My only complaint is that the soap, shampoo, etc are attached to the shower stall, but you can’t take a shower because the glass door is so small, water splashes on the floor. To take a bath, you have to stand to access the soap, shampoo, etc. Otherwise, the staff at reception were super friendly. They stored our bags without charge.
