Functional but needs to be refurbished

Rooms are functional. They are in need of refurbishment. The bed sheets were clean but the headboard of the bed was grubby (dried on food) on it. Car parking is cheap at £8 for 24 hours. The website seems that it might be a generic website as It offers rooms with a sea view. This incorrect as this Ibis hotel is in a county that is a 100 miles away (at least) from any sea but they do accommodate dogs which is a bonus. Didn’t eat here so cannot comment on food or drink.

Booked for a friend who works in the area to celebrate his birthday and they decorated the room for us and left a little gift. It was so comfortable and quiet and the staff were so friendly and could not do more. We had a late check out at 1pm and paid an extra £10 which was well worth it. And the staff helped with all my Qs about parking and replied in good time. I sent about 6 emails! thanks so much. We will definitely stay again

Surprisingly lovely stay, I only stayed one night for work but the made me feel very welcome and valued. Quick and friendly service, recognition of Accor status, good location. The room was surprisingly large, too :-)

For the price I paid, this was spot on. Room very clean, bed comfy and room. Was very spacious. Great location for thr train station.

Positives - Location. Big sized rooms. Affordable breakfast (£6 for a continental- with a decent selection) Negatives - Check in process. What a huge queue was accumulated. Maria was working very very hard while her colleague (a male whom I can only presume is a supervisor) was chatting casually with contractors. I even once went to reception when it was unmanned and he was just in the back office on his phone. Please do better. Also, Kristina from Moldova was amazing! Air conditioning. Ok, the rooms don’t have air con and it would be very expensive to put them in every room. There was a fan, which was super important and appreciated. But keep this in mind when you visit. This place is an inferno. Beds - possibly the worst bed I’ve ever slept on. There are no mattresses, but a 5 inch foam futon. Absolutely abhorrent. Also, the pillows are like rocks. I asked reception and they said this was standard in the rooms. I think I was short changed, this can’t be the same in every room.
