I stayed here for five nights in October 2025, whilst visiting Leeds, York and surrounding areas. If you’re arriving by train, the hotel is an easy straightforward ten minute walk from the station along Wellington Street. After reading previous reviews I worried that this might be difficult or unsafe, but it wasn’t and walking back to the hotel at night didn’t seem unsafe. The hotel was pleasant, comfortable and in a decent condition. The reception area and the breakfast room were bright and clean. It’s a twelve floor hotel but the two lifts worked and were well lit. They were never too busy during my stay. My room was a decent size with a comfortable bed and a relatively small bathroom, which included an efficient shower. The duvet looked too thin at first but in fact was fine. The hot water had an odd smell for some reason but this didn’t bother me unduly. Breakfast was decent and is £10.50 rather than £12.00 if you pay in advance. Lots of choices among hot and cold offerings. I would have liked porridge and more vegetarian items however. I have stayed in this hotel in May and August (2025). Staff were professional, friendly and courteous. The location is great for the city centre and for buses. Parking isn't included but there is a car park across the road. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and a good size. Ironing is available on specific floors. For an additional price, you can opt for breakfast which I would recommend. Will be back in 2026 😁

Great staff, good hotel but beware of car park opposite.

Just back from a long weekend in Leeds for the football, stayed at this hotel. Room very nice, clean and tidy with beds made very day. Power shower was great, with shampoo and shower gel provided by the hotel. Have to praise one of the receptionists, a young Asian gentleman who went out of his way to help us with a problem concerning the car park opposite, he was very helpful with a nice personality, 10/10 for him. Didn't eat or drink there so unable to comment. One word of caution concerning the car park directly opposite. It was a council-run park with extortionate prices and inadequate information. But the most annoying aspect of our stay was you can only pay from 08.00 am - 6.00pm, whereby you have to top-up the charge to cover you from 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm which was ridiculous when we knew there was no way we could get there last Saturday evening (attending football match), thus initially risking a heavy fine!!! Who would want to go into town then walk back just to pay more!!! It was free between 10 pm and 08.00 am. Luckily, the above-mentioned receptionist (didn't get his name) sorted this for us by downloading the app to my wife's phone and we then paid the entire charge to cover us for the weekend! Nothing else nearby so beware - the local council should be doing far more to attract visitors, not expect them to pay ott charges, with the same applying at weekends! It was also difficult to cross a very busy road to access the car park. If you stay there ensure you ask at reception regarding the car park app. Good hotel and great staff, but the car park would put us off staying at any future date.

I stayed in the Leeds Ibis for a few nights in September, as it was the cheapest, most central hotel in Leeds. It was well situated - close to the city centre, student accommodation and hospital. Just a fair warning, if you’re walking to the hotel directly from the station/city centre, avoid using the bridge across the A58 as it’s certainly not the safest place. I relied on the buses instead (one picked up outside the fire station and another at the top of the street). There wasn’t much around in terms of shops and restaurants, so you have to eat when you were out and about. Upon arrival, staff were very friendly and gave me all the relevant information. The room was what I expected, basic but still very clean and well presented. There was ample space/storage, good natural light and the room included a desk, chair, small sofa area, wardrobe and TV. The bathroom was a bit of an odd set up, a bit like a circular pod with everything inside. There were some signs of wear and tear but nothing too serious (I.e. marked walls, carpet coming away, squeaky doors). The beds could do with updating - the bed frame was very creaky and the mattress was the same thickness as a standard duvet. I didn’t hear any noise from other neighbours but the use of water within the hotel was fairly loud, so anytime someone ran a tap or had a shower, you could very clearly hear it. The water in the bathroom also had a horrible smell - I don’t know why this was but it did worry me a bit. I didn’t end up eating at the hotel as some of the prices were ridiculous. Chicago Town pizzas (usually sold for £5 in supermarkets) were being sold in the bar for £12.95 and when booking my room, breakfast was charged at £25 per person per day to add on. However, I can’t complain about 24/7 food and drink services being available. This hotel was cheap and cheerful. I will definitely return for the convenient location and good prices.
