Disappointing Services!

One of the worst hotels we have ever come across. The day we got the room, the room was not prepared. No bell boy / trolly to take our luggage upto the room. Room was at 31 st floor but lift goes until 30th floor. If you want to take the service you need to pay a tip asked by the employees directly. No slippers, no basic provisions like water, milk etc for coffee. Waited for 1 hour to get the slippers. We were told that the slippers will be provided if they have enough quantity. Called to re-fill toiletries as had very less or empty. No body turned up. Later we were informed that we have to go and refill water at the reception. Overall very inconvenient stay. Writing this review when we are still at the hotel. One can understand the inconvenience levels. Donot know if management really hears. Really disappointing!

I am actually pretty surprised by the negative reviews because our stay was really good. We booked the superior queen room with sofa bed and was given a room on the 27th floor. Room was really clean and nice, and seemed to have been refreshed 1-2 years back. Check-in by Lya was really pleasant and quick; a call to set up the sofa bed was also responded to promptly. I read some reviews about lifts being slow but did not experience any of this at all. In fact, their lift system is used at many offices around the world to ensure security and efficiency. We did not pay for the hotel breakfast but went for the Starbucks that was just about 5 minutes walk away. There are several cafes around and pasties were just coming out of the ovens at about 7.30am! Overall, good stay and may consider coming back again if in Paris.

I had booked a room with queen size bed for me and my wife, but when I arrived i was told that they only had twin beds and that there was nothing to do about that until next day. That was the first of many disappointing things about this hotel. The lobby is beautiful and you could expect the room to be alike, but they are old and poorly maintained. The beds were screaming for help and the bathroom in particular is falling apart. As I actually got my Queen size bedroom the next day. I understood that I were not just unlucky. That room was exactly the same. To top if off I had to stand in line to get my Breakfast 2 days in a row. Not so much because it was crowded, but because the staff insisted on appointing me a table… The location is nice, but all in all The hotel does not deserve the stars.

The worst experience in my life

They tried to charge extra they locked me inside and took my luggage and purse because they wanted me to pay twice the city tax. I was alone my boyfriend left early. I had to pay it to have my stuff back. They wanted to charge again because the printer didn’t print my receipt the charge was already in my chase app registered. I try to call the manager but she didn’t know English. The worst experience in my life don’t go here!

Good hotel..just very impersonal

We stayed at the Novotel in the first week of Nov 2024 and we had 4 rooms for a group of 9. Novotel is a very big hotel with a lot of rooms…there were almost 30 rooms per floor and the hotel has at least 25 habitable floor…so one can guess. We reached Paris from Amsterdam around 9 pm at night and at that time also the check in process took almost 45 min. There were quite a few guests checking in and the whole process per guest was taking time and only 2 counters were open. The rooms we had booked were really good. We got the corner rooms which were big in size and had a sofa Cum bed in a small living room section and then the main bedroom. As these were corner rooms the view from both the living area and the bedroom was awesome and had different angles. We were on the 21st floor and some rooms had the seine river view while others had the city view. The rooms were well lit and the beds were comfortable. The only issue with the room was that the toilet is separate from the bathroom and it doesn’t even have a sink inside. So one has to go all the way to the bathroom to wash hands after using the toilet. The bathroom also had a bathtub and a separate bathing area. The bathtub wasn’t used as there were no shower curtains and if used I am sure the water would have spilled out and wet the carpets in the bedroom. The hotel breakfast buffet was good with a good spread but as the hotel is so huge the place was always crowded and guest had to wait in line to get seated. The live egg counter was always crowded. We stayed there for 4 days and this was the case everyday and at all times since 7 am. The staff is professional but very impersonal and at times comes off as rude. There is no personal touch. The checkout also is self done, the key cards get deactivated at 12 on the day you checkout. The concierge service is at a charge if you need your bags delivered to your room. But one can store their luggage with the concierge free of cost. The location of the hotel is good. Eiffel is a 10-15 min walk. The Bir hakim station and the Javel station are walking from the hotel. There is a mall and a huge super market right next to the hotel and both of these can be accessed from the 2nd floor lobby level of the hotel as well. What I mean is these are all connected. The hotel also has a store on level 2 which also has microwave overs which the guest can use to warm any food they may have purchased at the supermarket. In all a good choice to stay at Paris.
