Good hotel..just very impersonal

We stayed at the Novotel in the first week of Nov 2024 and we had 4 rooms for a group of 9. Novotel is a very big hotel with a lot of rooms…there were almost 30 rooms per floor and the hotel has at least 25 habitable floor…so one can guess. We reached Paris from Amsterdam around 9 pm at night and at that time also the check in process took almost 45 min. There were quite a few guests checking in and the whole process per guest was taking time and only 2 counters were open. The rooms we had booked were really good. We got the corner rooms which were big in size and had a sofa Cum bed in a small living room section and then the main bedroom. As these were corner rooms the view from both the living area and the bedroom was awesome and had different angles. We were on the 21st floor and some rooms had the seine river view while others had the city view. The rooms were well lit and the beds were comfortable. The only issue with the room was that the toilet is separate from the bathroom and it doesn’t even have a sink inside. So one has to go all the way to the bathroom to wash hands after using the toilet. The bathroom also had a bathtub and a separate bathing area. The bathtub wasn’t used as there were no shower curtains and if used I am sure the water would have spilled out and wet the carpets in the bedroom. The hotel breakfast buffet was good with a good spread but as the hotel is so huge the place was always crowded and guest had to wait in line to get seated. The live egg counter was always crowded. We stayed there for 4 days and this was the case everyday and at all times since 7 am. The staff is professional but very impersonal and at times comes off as rude. There is no personal touch. The checkout also is self done, the key cards get deactivated at 12 on the day you checkout. The concierge service is at a charge if you need your bags delivered to your room. But one can store their luggage with the concierge free of cost. The location of the hotel is good. Eiffel is a 10-15 min walk. The Bir hakim station and the Javel station are walking from the hotel. There is a mall and a huge super market right next to the hotel and both of these can be accessed from the 2nd floor lobby level of the hotel as well. What I mean is these are all connected. The hotel also has a store on level 2 which also has microwave overs which the guest can use to warm any food they may have purchased at the supermarket. In all a good choice to stay at Paris.

10/15 minute walk from Eiffel Tower area. Fast checkin (went at 2:30 but room not available but that’s to be expected so went back at 3pm). Room good and clean. Only negatives were no milk for the tea/coffe in the room - didn’t have time to go and ask for any as had to check out. Also someone opened our room and started to come in unannounced at 0830 - tried to call reception but the room phone didn’t work. Called via mobile and they said it was housekeeping - no warning though and they walked straight in to my child in bed who was frightened by a stranger suddenly appearing. Otherwise happy with the stay.

Terrible business stay. Rooms are poor with no mirror near a plug socket to style hair, poor lighting making it hard to work or put makeup on in room. Bathroom floor floods due to poorly fitted shower screen. No iron in room and impossible to get one when requested. Long queues for breakfast. No bottled water provided in rooms. Room located next to families with small children that woke early and were noisy…. Not a problem as I was awake early for work but why locate business travellers next to families? If traveling for business I would stay elsewhere… worst Novotel I ever stayed in.

Poor experience The hotel bar was full of flies - I’ve the ceiling walls - just awful - I spoke toner of staff and they had nothing to say My room was poorly laid out and I had the mini fridge light flash all night - I complained and was told we will try and fix it - no concern that I had been kept awake all night - no compensation for a 650 euro 2 night stay - poor!
