Far from town, close to beach and airport. Ibis Budget is more hostel than hotel. The low price point brings in mostly younger tourists. The sort that are up at all hours of the night, having loud conversations, slamming doors and having little to no regard for those other guests who actually want to get to sleep. Someone slams a door three rooms away and your bed shakes, such is the structure of the building. Doors and walls have almost zero sound deadening qualities. The gated complex, where you have to buzz to get in or out, feels somewhat like a prison. It's a most bizarre situation. Right across from the sea, but its about a half hour walk to the really nice beach. And an hour walk to the nearest shops. Frequent bus service to the airport from right outside, although sometimes, the buses don't stop. Alicante is a lovely town.

Things have really improved from the last time we were there last year. Everywhere clean. People no longer smoke in their rooms and smoke smell free. Breakfast was great. We were well attended to and was not charged extra despite our checking in early hours of the morning. Kudos to the management.
