Staff did not follow precautions required. When eating breakfast the waitress served multiple tables with her mask below her nose, providing no protection to her or us. I booked the swimming pool, and was told their was a strict half hour slot with max of 6 people. But on my arrival there were seven in the poop. I queried this with staff who said that children do not count. Firstly that is not true in England, the government has been very clear that children count in the rules of six. Secondly, why would teenage children not count towards a covid risk? The family were very rowdy in the pool, not maintaining distance at all and making it impossible to keep distance. When I politely asked the family to maintain distance the family were verbally abusive and refused to do so. I raised a second time with staff that there had been overcrowding in the pool and a breach of rules, and that I was unhappy with this and wished it to be raised as a complained. Staff said that management said that children do not count and took no further action. Since I have heard nothing back I can only presume they took no further action. I will not be staying with Novotel again when blatant safety breaches are being made - just as said hotel was moving into a higher tier

Considering Covid19 regulations were in force we were lucky to find Novotel open. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. The room was spacious, very clean, the shower was roomy and designed well. The only disappointment was that I was a bit cold during the night and my evening meal was a disappointment. However, the staff did apologise and offer an alternative but I accepted a sweet to compensate. I would definitely stay here again if I had cause to visit Milton Keynes.

I am always returning to this hotel because of its superb location, being close to the town centre etc but as always I think the customer service could be better. The girl at the desk failed to remind me to add my car registration onto the system and told me I had not made any specific room request when I made the booking which I did and she would know had she bothered to check the note on the booking. I work at a hotel myself so I know 1st hand that these minor issues if improved could greatly enhance guest experience and brand standards. The hotel is dated but clean and very comfortable but carpets in room needs to be removed and replaced as it is old and tired and let’s the room down. Such a shame that because of the Pandemic the kids area and games have been removed but to be expected I guess in these trying times.

The hotel and rooms themselves we clean etc! Dinner wasn’t as nice as the breakfast, the breakfast was lovely and well worth the money, but the dinner was better than edible standard. The staff at reception, however are rude!! And lack basic communication skills.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the COVID safety measure that were put in place were good including booking slots in the pool which made us feel safe. The only negative was the heating didn’t work in our room which made for a slightly chilly night.

Most staffs were very good except one was not up to the normal standard. It was on Saturday, breakfast tray, towels & rubbish were left till at least after 7pm since morning. No one at the counter during the day but was hiding n the room with her own mobile. Otherwise the experience was good during the lockdown.
