Do not stay here. Not worth the money. 1. Rooms are incredibly dated and dusty. They are in need of an urgent revamp. 2. Rooms have not been cleaned. We had a sofa covered in dust, stained carpets and curtains, furniture that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. We had little belief the bedsheets were clean. 3. Stains on the bathroom floor and pubic hairs. 4. The corridors have a stale smell of an old bar, sick, and cigarette smoke. 5. Dust covers the surfaces of everything. The cleanest part of the room was the bathroom tap. We didn't want to sleep in the bed, it felt so dirty and unkept. We used to frequently stay in Ibis hotels and had fond memories of this hotel in particular, but were let down on our most recent visit. Our visit lasted a total of 30 minutes before we checked out and found somewhere else to stay.

Checked in and walked to my ground floor room, noticed a cheesy feet smell in the corridor which was about a hundred times worse in the room I was allocated. The smell of cheesy feet/wet dog was really overwhelming, I think it was coming from the carpet which was beyond cleaning.. needs to be ripped out and burnt!! The floor was so dirty that I couldn’t walk about in bare feet for fear of catching something! The walls were also pretty thin so I could hear next door’s tv until they eventually turned it off. The only saving grace was that the bathroom was nice and clean, but that really was it.

My son and husband stayed in this hotel with their football team whilst attending a tournament over the weekend. The rooms leave a lot to be desired BUT the staff were exceptional! Friendly, welcoming and honest - they make this hotel. Thank you to them for their genuine hospitality.

Outdated, dirty and smelly

There is no other way of saying this but this place is an absolute dump. It’s outdated and filthy. There was a strong smell of weed and cigarette smoke in the corridors and in each of the two rooms we had booked, they smelt of sewage and vomit. Avoid, pay a bit more and stay somewhere decent.

We stayed in room 316 for two nights. I understand this is a budget hotel but it was so rundown I questioned why we were staying here. Very quickly I noticed walking barefoot that the carpet in our room made the soles of my feet turn black. We stayed here for a wedding and on the first morning I had to sit on the floor to have my hair done, the floor was absolutely filthy; the carpet was beige, but it was so covered in black dots that it actually appeared that was the design. The walls had multiple handprints all above the bed, all adult handprints. Also weirdly, the skirting was about 5mm above the floor, but I am totally perplexed by this, had the building moved or had there been a flood on the 3rd floor? The mind boggles. The bathroom was clean but the floor lino was coming away and bubbled. Didn’t use the shower but my husband said it was lacking pressure. Rooms with even numbers face the motorway, if you keep your window open you will just hear motorway traffic all night long. The mattress was akin to laying on a bale of hay, it was so hard. The breakfast looked deciding anaemic from others photos so we went to the pub next door which was pretty much the same price but looked edible. It feels terrible to criticise a place that’s £49 a night, given as the staff were working so hard but the brand is ultimately responsible for the obvious bio hazard that is this hotel. All around the lift entrance the paint was worn and old. This hotel so desperately needs a refurb. The staff were absolutely fab, pleasant and helpful. The aesthetic of the building was the letdown and that's primarily the business you're paying for.
