Terrible Stay – Avoid This Hotel!

My stay at this hotel was a complete disaster, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The room was unbearably hot because the heating was constantly running. Opening the window wasn’t an option since the room was on a low level, making it insecure and unsafe. To make matters worse, the bathroom ventilation ran non-stop, creating an annoying noise that made it impossible to sleep. I reported these issues to the staff, and while a receptionist came to inspect the room and agreed the conditions were unacceptable, nothing was done to fix the situation. No room change, no real solution – just empty apologies. This hotel completely failed at its basic purpose: providing a restful place to sleep. If you value your comfort, peace, or money, avoid Ibis Aalst at all costs. Terrible experience!

Regarding the room temperature, our hotel needs to choose between air conditioning or heating for the entire building. At certain times of the year, we opt for heating as it can be cold at night, however, guests have the option to turn this off in their rooms. We also apologize for the disturbance caused by the bathroom ventilation. While it is in place to ensure proper airflow, it should not detract from the tranquility of your stay. Moreover, the safety and security of our guests are of utmost importance to us, and we regret to hear that you felt unsafe with the window open. Our hotel's design prioritizes guest comfort and safety, and we apologize if we fell short in providing this. We are particularly disappointed to hear that our staff's response to your concerns was not satisfactory. Great value with lovely breakfast.

We were greated with humour and enthusiasm by reception staff on arrival. The hotel has a bar and restaurant. OUr rooms were large and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with the pancake machine a hit woth our foster children. This hotel is located convieniently for the motorway with parking on site. The parking under the building has a height limit but parking next to the hotel as we had a top box was no issue. The walk to the town centre takes at least 30/40 min and we didnt see many restaurants near the hotel. However, we had our eyes on Mozart restuarant bottomless ribs in Aalst centre and the walk was worth it. We would stay here again; very good value.

Unpleasant

Very nasty stay. See the details below- 1- Checkin at 1.30 is chargeable. You are ok to let the room empty and cust wait. 2- No fridge in the room 3- No Hot water kettle and coffee provision in the room 4- No locker 5- No air conditioning 6- I had to return to dirty bedsheets all 3 nights. Every morning they said, it will be done next day. 7- They say central, but the location is really bad. No connectivity after 8pm. No Uber would come to Aalst station. I have traveled many places and stayed in a lot of properties. I believe All properties is out of my list now. First and last stay ever! Ridiculous!

We regret to hear about your concerns with the temperature control and bed linen. Please note that our hotel operates a central heating system to ensure a comfortable environment during cold periods. We also offer a 15-minute guarantee to address any cleaning issues immediately, though it seems we missed the mark during your visit. Concerning our location, we are situated on the outskirts of the city center, which may affect the availability of certain transport services like Uber after peak hours. Nonetheless, we are within a reasonable distance of Aalst station and offer bike rental services for exploring the local area. No food, no refund

Ordered food via qr code on table. Waited 45 minutes and when I asked about my food I was told that they had a problem with their system. Didn't receive my food and didn't get a refund There was never anyone at reception or the bar. Waited 20 minutes to check in. Not impressed 😕

No room with double bed available but got family room instead.

Booked a room with large double bed, but as no more available got a family room instead for same price. Hotel staff very friendly and always willing to help. Very spacious and clean room. Silent. Parking for free. As a I am a member, got 10% reduction on the room. Will for sure come back.
