First visit to Brussels

We stayed 1 night whilst attending a concert in the centre of Brussels and this hotel was conveniently located for our Eurostar arrival & departure, as well as for the Metro - which was only a 12 minute journey to Grand Place. The hotel was well presented, clean, and staff were friendly. The luggage storage was useful on the day of check-out so we could explore for a few more hours before getting the Eurostar to London. I do agree with other reviews that mention groups of men hanging around in the area, and at one point there were a couple even stood by the door of the hotel. Although, this didn’t phase us too much as we had just travelled from Paris which was SO much worse. The amount of homeless just across the street at the Tram station was shocking, albeit didn’t impact our stay. Also, there was a lot of noise in the hotel, the next morning, which woke us up. Banging and talking. We were at the far end of the hotel so unsure if this was caused by other guests, or by hotel staff. This was irritating but minor. We would likely stay again if ever returning to Brussels.

The hotel itself is nice, we were upgraded as we were celebrating a birthday and were able to check in earlier. The room was clean and spacious, not much of a view. The hotel is opposite the train station so very convienet if you get the Eurostar but the area is very run down, graffiti and rubbish everywhere. Lots of groups of men hanging around the streets and beggers everywhere, we felt very uncomfortable and made the decision to move hotels after one night- the room also doesn’t come with a safe which made us more on edge. The breakfast was okay, nothing special, a range of items to choose but not great quality.

Blisko dworca więc daje duże możliwości przemieszczania się, dobre śniadania ale niestety niezbyt czysta łazienka i brak czajnika w pokoju.

Szanowna Edyto, Cieszymy się, że zdecydowała się Pani napisać kilka słów o pobycie w ibis Brussels Centre Gare Midi – bardzo to doceniamy. Cieszymy się, że doceniła Pani dogodną lokalizację naszego hotelu w pobliżu dworca kolejowego, która ułatwia zwiedzanie Brukseli. Niemniej, przykro nam, że niektóre aspekty pobytu nie spełniły Pani oczekiwań. W pokojach kategorii standardowej dostępne są czajniki jedynie na życzenie, chętnie udostępnimy je podczas następnej wizyty. Dodatkowo, zespół Housekeepingu dokłada wszelkich starań, aby utrzymać najwyższe standardy czystości. Dziękujemy również za miłe słowa dotyczące śniadań oraz zaangażowania całego zespołu. My second stay at this Ibis. Efficient, good valu3 for money, typical Ibis shower and bedroom, really great location (for Brussels Midi - Eurostar, airport access and other trains) but no atmosphere. Bar OK. Will stay again when convenience calls ….
