Doggy Friendly Hotel To The Extreme And Unacceptable Level

Stayed at this hotel during last few days with friends. Have stayed at the hotel on several previous occasions in recent years. Great location and friendly staff. Staff have done a good job dressing the reception area for Christmas making the hotel warm and welcoming. Breakfast is basic but ok. On site parking is very useful. Room was looking a little tired. The heater did not work properly so room was too cold for me but after reporting to Reception maintenance resolved the issue with the heater. Bed this time was very hard impacting sleep quality. Significantly, I hadn't realised that the hotel now was dog friendly. For someone who is afraid of dogs this is a big no no! Noticed 5/6 dogs during our stay with their owners and all seemed to be staying on different floors? Suggested to me that there were no dedicated room for guests with dogs. I did ask Reception about this and they were surprised by the question and gave me the impression that there were NO DEDICATED rooms for dog owners and their dogs. Not hygienic and unacceptable surely for non-dog guests like me. I actually complained to Reception about dogs being allowed to accompany their owners in the breakfast room. One owner was walking his dog around the buffet counter while collecting his food, patting his dog in the process. The Receptionist agreed with me that it was not acceptable but did nothing about it. Come on IBIS this is surely unhygienic and unacceptable practice to your guests regardless of if there dog owners. Standards have slipped and won't be staying here again!

Helpful and approachable staff. Good to have parking available (at a reasonable cost). Rather difficult to get the room temperature to an acceptable level because of the location of the heater unit

A tired hotel and a poor service experience.

Various minor gripes added up to a disappointing stay. Breakfast items regularly ran out. sSome of the guest interactions at reception left a lot to be desired: very curt and abrupt. When I arrived in the room there were used tissues unflushed in the loo, which I chose to overlook because everything else seemed fine, but it soon began to feel like a pattern. Little thing, but the coathangers had those little spring loaded clips on for hanging items, and all were broken. On the upside, the barriers for the car park were also not functioning, so I paid for three days’ stay and didn’t have to worry about per-hour charges after 12pm on departure day. For an Accor hotel, this was really not a great experience.

A very pleasant stay

Well, we were pleasantly surprised after reading mixed reviews. The room was warm and cosy, beds were very comfy, everywhere clean. staff were helpful and pleasant, the breakfast was good, not too much choice for evening meal, but what we had was tasty. Could have done with some comfortable seating in the bar area. The location was perfect, within easy reach of city centre, the magical mystery tour is a must if you like the beatles. Also the museum of music is good value for money, plenty to see in there and a nice trip down memory lane. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Too expensive for the no frill hotel and a charge for the carpark

Location was the only benefit. They even charge to park on site!! Receptionist was so rude and unfriendly, certainly not a good advert for Liverpool. Bathroom door didn’t fully close and being a wet room, we got wee feet whilst using the mirror. One electric socket.
