I would not return back to IBIS Wellington

I have stayed several times in the past at IBIS Wellington and I felt comfortable in the past but it was a short stay with a max of a week. This time I stayed more than a month and I left the hotel with an unpleasant memories and I would not recommend this hotel due to the fact some of their cleaners are uncivilized and extremely rude. My privacy has been breached once by the cleaner who touched my belongings and the second time another cleaner behaved rudely. Both times I have reported the issues to the management but there was no follow up just I received casual apology over the phone. The second time the issue was escalated to the General Manager of the hotel who didn't follow up either. Although the receptionist staff members appeared as respectful they were ineffective and untrustworthy. I really felt uncomfortable dealing with one particular manager (male) who is judgmental and unprofessional. The room is clean, peaceful and it has everything you need but I would not allow the cleaners (anyone) to violate my civil rights but unfortunately it is a casual thing at IBIS. Embarrassing!!!

The hotel was fine and value for money. However the food service was appalling, ordered a simple breakfast ie tea coffee and cereal after 30 minutes told them to forget it and went elsewhere. Secondly didn’t feel like a full meal so ordered toasted ham & cheese sandwich it arrived processed cheese and ham the sandwich was white bread that it was warmed but not toasted.well not go back

I am very happy with the Ibis and the staff. I love the location, as it is 5 mihs walk to where I work at Customs House, walking distance to Lambton quay, and walking distance to wellington front. Taxis are always available to take you to places further from the Ibis. Thank you for having me as a frequent guest, who will continue to stay at the IBis every Thursday abd Friday night.

I stay at the Ibis regularly for business and I have no complaints. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. Location is fabulous if you want to be right in the middle of Wellington city. I had my room upgraded this stay so am very grateful for that.

Our flight was cancelled and we had to find a place to sleep for one night. The team was very friendly and helpful with booking in and checking out. Our room was spacious and quiet. The bed was one of the best and therefore we had a excellent night.

No frills but quite adequate rooms. The only problem was a noisy aircon system in which it was difficult to get down to a comfortably low sleeping temperature in spite of low outdoor temperatures. Dining room meal menu is rather limited and somewhat expensive. Some lower priced options would be an advantage for thosejust wanting a quick meal rather than a social occasion.

Comments for hotel only. I have stayed here before and continue to appreciate its location. One point- a complaint related to a certain taxi company, KIWI. Fri. 13th at 2.25pm or so. Overcharged as if presenting EFTPOS: I paid an extra $3.00 [punishment for using cash?!]. Attitude of driver beyond belief. If in your hotel again, I would avoid that company and take a second OR third taxi, if necessary. That driver is an embarrassment to your city. I have placed a review online.

Room service following first night was very good, clean towels, hand towels etc but the next 3 nights had to chase up hand towels - was told they are not required to supply these Also cleaning bathroom floor was not up to standard

Very clean, the cleaners come in through the day to tidy your room. The service was awesome although there was a bit of confusions as to how much my deposit was. The room was big enough for me and my friend but the bathroom was a bit too small but we made it work.

We were disappointed when we asked for clean towels but were given The dirty ones folded back up. We also asked for our coffee to be replenished but that never happened by the cleaners or the receptionist. Very disappointed and won’t be staying there again.

We paid at check in - and were not told an amount of $100 was reserved for our bond. Then we were checked out in error, a day early. Our room was not serviced. The desk staff person who spoke to us was condescending and unhelpful.

Went to reception to get checked in and find out parking details as we had requested these when booking. Went to park car and realised we couldn’t fit - we hadn’t been informed of a height restriction, on going out to the car I realised we also hadn’t been given our key cards to get up to room so back to reception to be told that there was a 2m restriction in the whole city (we are not from Wellington so weren’t aware of this) so had to park on street - meant we were up early to sort parking/ ended up leaving earlier then we had planned for. So unfortunately our stay ended up being a little disappointing. At least I know for next time to ask about height restrictions, we were refunded parking as we didn’t end up using. Room was clean and comfortable!

I stayed at Ibis Wellington for two nights so I could enjoy Wellington's fun and entertainment. Able to walk everywhere from my hotel I enjoyed all I wanted to do. The Ibis was very clean and the staff were outstanding.

The Ibis Wellington was the perfect base for two nights and three days in Wellington. The bed was super comfortable and the room spacious. A pleasant and easy walk to the waterfront and to the Cable Car to go to Zealandia. We would certainly stay here again.

Everything was as I would expect apart from the poor quality food after the restaurant closed. I ordered the chicken which was like deep fried cardboard with a salad that was off - almost rotten and shoestring fries. I couldn't eat it so went to my room but was too hungry to sleep. Couldn't get a toasted sandwich so ordered double cheeseburger. Had plastic cheese over a barely edible pattie in a bun with the same rotten salad. very disappointing food.

We try to stay here on our not frequent enough trips to Welly.It is handy to the station, Lambton Quay and Willis Street,buses to other parts.Hotel is clean, beds comfortable and pleasant staff.Breakfasts fairly homogenous hotel style but will keep you going most of the day.
