The rooms were clean and nice. However I didn’t like the fact that you guys don’t put bottled water in the fridge. And also, some lights weren’t working in my room. In a suggestion, may you Atleast install a light on a ceiling. As well, because those lights are darker. Let it be the choice of the guest to choose whether to switch them on or not. But above all, I loved your bathroom.

Actually it was a long trip with me to stay for about 18 nights during my Safari to South Africa, I was in a great trouble of where can I stay for all days long with comfortable and enjoyable place. I feel the standard at Mercure is slowly dropping as compared to what it used to be House Keeping: 1. The smell of the wet carpet in the rooms didn't make it pleasant at all to stay in the room, I requested to be moved to another room but upon realizing that it was all the rooms that smelled that way, I decided to let it go. Next time when deciding to wash the carpets have a proper way on how you would have them dried up without inconveniencing the stay of the guest, especially since I have sinuses issues. 2. I truly appreciate the fact that there's tea's in the room especially given the weather on the week when I stayed in your hotel, but really, what's the point of putting in a tea station and yet you don't put in tea stirrer or teaspoon, I asked for it twice already in the note for the housekeeping team and its only once where it was provided, which made it difficult for me to have a cup of coffee. I mean really, even after the request, house keeping still didn't provide. 3. It will be appreciated if each bathroom will have a toilet cleaner, it is very embarrassing, uncomfortable and degrading to me expect someone else has to clean my toilet mess, I understand that there's cleaners but there's just things that I wouldn't want other people to see, so kindly consider having the brushes. It's not all of us that want to leave a toilet in such a state and if others are comfortable, then let them be but at least provide us with the option to do so. I had to put my hand in the toilet bowl twice to try clean it up cause I couldn't leave it in such a state! Restaurant: 4. I know that the person have an option to either order out and have the food delivered or just order from the hotel restaurant, but when you're booked by a company and the agency has already paid for your supper at the hotel and you don't have money to consider other option, one is left with no choice but to consider placing and order in your restaurant. I must say the only thing that I could eat and enjoy was your green salad and nothing else. Chips are served cold, old and not fresh. The wings and ribs were a nightmare, when I decided to go for a burger, it was also not what is supposed to be. Maybe you need to consider either changing your chef or consider a different ways of preparing your meals so that it also reaches the same standard if not more, of what a burger should taste like. As much as I feel that the above still needs to be worked and improved on, I MUST give compliment to your front staff, they were very friendly and provided with the excellent customer service, especially since I am also in the customer service environment myself, I have passion for excellent service and always moved when I see people that still values their customers in that way. I also enjoyed my breakfast in the morning, so kindly pass my appreciation to that team as well. I am looking forward to some changes on my next visit. Thank you

I had dinner in the restaurant on the Wednesday evening only. The food was good however I felt like I was being rushed to get my dinner done and leave. In my room I had a kettle, tea, coffee, sugar and milk. This was great - but not a single teaspoon. I managed to get a plastic teaspoon at my office. It is the attention to the small detail that is important!!!

I booked on 26.11. 2019 for 2 nights stay (29 - 31.11.2019). To my surprise after driving for 5 hours, when I got to the hotel I was told there's no room for me for the Friday & I need to go book elsewhere and come back the following day. When I asked why, because I booked in advance I was told there was no rooms. I was advised by the receptionist that whoever is in charge of reservation said they called me, but I never received any call, sms or email regarding this matter and if a cancelation was done why was the booking not canceled for both days? I'm really disappointed since this is not the first time this happened. In September I was told the same thing when I got there after again booking in advance and had to go book elsewhere and come back the next day. I have been making bookings there for the past 2 years, but never had to experience the inconvenience and incompetence that I have lately. I'm really dissatisfied with the level of service that Mercure Midrand gave me and as a regular client I have no trust in the hotel anymore, because one day I will drive all the way and get there and find that I have nowhere to stay even though I had booked in advance.
