Customer service and hospitality of the highest order greeted me at this Ibis and continued unabated throughout the stay with the friendly, efficient and professional hotel team striving and achieving in making my stay memorable for all the right reasons, they are truly fabulous. Located on the edge of the city centre within walking distance of the attractions, shops, bars and restaurants that the city has to offer, also the hotel is less than a ten minute walk to the main railway station with its easy connections to London, Birmingham City and International Airport together the NEC. The combined communal areas bring together the reception desk, bar, restaurant and chill out space (with pool table) these are a pleasant places to hang out. The rooms are well decorated and maintained, they are also quiet spacious, the room was also spotlessly clean. The large modern television broadcasted all the free view channels and the free Wi-Fi was a good as you get in a hotel room. The en-suite bathroom was also spotlessly clean and benefitted from a powerful shower and fluffy towels. The buffet breakfast was stupendous, good quality ingredients, cooked and presented well, attended by attentive team, my only gripe was the awful coffee. Overall a truly fantastic experience which I will definitely be repeating and urge others to experience.

Not the cleanest, bad service

I wouldn’t go back. It was a cheap deal, so we weren’t expecting anything fancy. The room was basic but fine for what we needed. The bed, however, was very uncomfortable. The mattress was firm to the point of being hard, and I woke up multiple times in the night with back ache from it. The room itself was clean enough, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. The sink was grimy around the tap and plug, and there was a vile smell coming up through the sink drain. The room had an adjoining door to the next room, with no lock. They had taken off the adjoining handles, but it looked pretty easy to turn the handle from the other side, so we didn’t feel completely safe sleeping there and propped the suitcase against the door for extra precaution. Most of the staff were really friendly and helpful. However, on one night I called the reception to ask for more toilet paper, as the one in the bathroom was half used when we arrived. The girl on reception made me come down to pick it up, so I had to change out of my pyjamas and put shoes on to walk into the busy bar area and collect another (half used) toilet paper. When I got there there were two people on reception, so I’m sure one of them could have come to the room to drop it off.

Basic, but clean, modern and functional

This is a very basic, clean, modern and sparsely furnished hotel. If all you need is a place to sleep, then it's fine, however I had the following issues: No heating/cooling controls - they were either intentionally disabled or broken Not enough table space Not enough power sockets, no USB charge points Modern TV, but only very basic channels Terrible internet -1.658Mb down / 2.5Mb up @ 20:00 hours - however there was an excellent 5G signal (EE network)

Amende pour stationnement sur parking difficile à récupérer

Nous avions réservé une chambre pour 5 jours autour Noël avec supplément parking pour la voiture en location. A notre arrivée à l'hôtel rien a signaler, tout c'est bien passé. A notre retour en France nous avons eu la surprise d'avoir été prélevée par la société de location de voiture de 35 £ + frais de gestion / jour, (total > 250 €) pour des amendes émises par la société gestionnaire du parking Ibis pour le stationnement que nous avions réservé et payé... Celà fait bientôt plus de 3 mois que cette histoire c'est passée et si l'hôtel a bien voulu entendre notre problème, nous n'avons toujours pas récupéré le montant injustement prélevé.
